Yes I'm rich again too. My 5 x Talwars, 3 x Stabbers, 3 x Ruptures and a large freight container full of faction and tech 2 ammo is being couriered to Syndicate via in-corp logistics. I hadn't flown Talwars before. Thankfully it's not taking too much to get my light missile skills up to decent spec. Talwar is a missile destroyer, btw. I loaded some up as they're used in allicance doctrine fit roams. 7 launchers firing missiles looks pretty cool. I have some AFs and an exploration fit Cheetah down there too so I will probably base myself there for quite a while see what it pays.

Deef do you have jump clones enabled? Man that's opened the game up for me. I'll jump into an empty clone for PvP and when I know I'm logging for a while jump back into my implanted clone for training. Also have clones in trade hubs, one in highsec for missioning and another in a lucrative lowsec base.

Nah no jump clones. Had once planned to, but I don't really move around enough and didn't bother.

Talwar is ok lookin'. Just can not dig destroyers in general though. Minimal improvements if any in DPS and tank, hefty loss in maneuverability. Compared to Assault/Faction frigs that is.

I wonder what the Talwars' role is for those roams. I guess cheapish risk at long range?

Just a note that there are free stuffs every day until Christmas. You need to poke the system each day for it though.
The launcher has a link, or that --> : http://www.eveonline.com/holiday2013" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

... which currently isn't working for me, so, brilliant. Apparently today it's just junk anyway (MWD/Cloak).

Yesterday I got a snowball launcher heh. And um... it said 100 snowballs but the redeeming system shows 1 lol. 1 snowball. Nice work CCP.

Haven't played much at all lately, just getting Tech 2 medium lasers. I know, I know, but pretty ships etc.
I have been collecting the Advent Calendar gifts though. Um... there are a couple of clothing items, lots of other stuff I found useless, and the Leopard. A shuttle. It warps at 20AU/s. Sounds awesome but eh... never gonna get used is it?

Two things to report:
1. I stumbled upon my old Malediction from Incarna days, now-impossible fittings and all. Discovered about 80mill in its cargo, so that's a bit nice, but then nothing in comparison to...
2. I appear to have won a Macharial battleship. I don't know why. A contract appeared assigned to me. It said "Congratulations!" and was from one of the big wigs in RvB. You seen what it sells for? Over 820 million. I accepted the ship, asked in corp why I got it, but didn't get an answer. I don't know if I should sell it lol. I won my first Slicer way back when in RvB, and that became my most enjoyed ship from then on. I have the feeling that if I keep the Macharial, it will come with that similar vibe of being happy to have it, thus enjoyment.

But wow, 820 mill. o_O :D

I've been asking tentatively in RvB why I got a Macharial, somewhat afraid that it was a mistake, not wanting to stick around to hear its undoing. No-one had any answers though, but someone suggested the RvB forums.
Many of you know and played in the FFA Mass event that went on for almost an entire month, starting at the end of October and ending at downtime the day Rubicon was launched. Thanks to the magic of Mangala Solaris and Miri Boirelle, the final list of prize winners is done. There are a couple of prizes not on this list, as there's a bit more looking that will need to be done. But for now here are your winners. If you are one of the lucky winners, you will be able to collect your contract at top station in Poinen.
An aside, I would like to thank everyone who helped, either by hauling, fitting, donating or simply showing up to kill things. It was an amazing event, and a lot of fun was had by everyone. And if you didn't have fun, well you must have been docked up hiding. Without further ado, your winners are:
Top Killer - Matrix StMee (Del will be your contact person - and no this prize is NOT at top station, you will be contacted soon)
2nd place killer - End'jinn won an Absolution
3rd place killer - Sylacx won a Purifier, Hound, Manticore, and a Nemesis
Lemming n 1 - Mirandin won a Gnosis
Amarr Victor - Mirandin won a Harbinger Navy Issue
Religious Zealot - Mirandin won a Omen Navy Issue
Gaffer Tape, Rust and Glory - Cressy Maximus won a Hurricane Fleet Issue
Junk Yard Collector - Fenris Berserk won a Stabber Fleet Issue
Drone Riot - Matrix StMee won a Brutix Navy Issue
Drone Bait - Bacon Pizza won a Vexor Navy Issue
For the State - End'jinn won a Drake Navy Issue
State Traitor - Semele Taram won a Caracal Navy Issue
Lord of the Rifters, Return of the King - Sylacx won a Jaguar, Wolf, and a Rifter
Final Frigate Fried - this prize was supposed to go to a player who is no longer with us, so I am giving it to the brave noob who flew the last ship of the event and died gloriously. When the pilot returns he can contact me and I'll shower him with something. The winner of this prize is Xenial Jesse Taalo who won a Machariel
Random Pull - Equinox Starborn won a Cynabal
Hot AWOX! Blue - Matrix StMee won a 30 Day Pilot's License Extension (PLEX)
Hot AWOX! Red - End'jinn won a 30 Day Pilot's License Extension (PLEX)
Kitey Killing is Boss - Matrix StMee won an assault frig of his choice (he will need to email me to let me know which one he would prefer, either the Enyo, Harpy, Jaguar, or Wolf
King of the Bantam - Monica Claw won an assault frig of his choice (he will need to email me to let me know which one he would prefer, either the Enyo, Harpy, Jaguar or Wolf
The Delvechio Ultimatum prize will be announced after the tie is broken, this will be done by the donator of the prize, I'm sure in a purely scientific way -
There I am! Now I can rest on the knowledge that it's actually legitimate. Woohoo. :D Two fun facts from that quote:
1. I yoinked a bit of a default win; the original winner had already left the corp so I scored the prize for blowing up the last frigate. :D And I only did that because I was a cheapass and kept using them after everyone else had gotten bored. :D
2. Look at that list... First prize isn't listed but otherwise I scored, far and away, the most expensive prize of everyone. :D:D

I am well chuffed. :D

Nah, haven't flown it, can't yet. I'm likely to let my sub lapse actually, just bored of it. I have over a billion ISK plus the Mach, but that can stay put thanks to that "Hours for PLEX" feature, so if I feel like Eve later I can jump back in and just plex up again.

My main problem (apart from the ruined shiny ships) is that I don't know how to put all my ISK to good use. I don't know how to invest it... it seems whatever I can think of, there's not much that's really better than just ratting in a Slicer/Crusader. Level 4 missions... sure... but I can't even do level 2 missions, and I can't really be bothered with the grind.

I wish the game let you be in 2 corps at once.

Have you lapsed?

Those clone soldier tags. I have a lowsec base and can jump a clone in and out as required. It's nice to have an option for fun gameplay and good cash when you're time-poor and can only afford 30-45 min sessions during the week. 30min sessions typically not viable in any MMO but this works well.

Also FYI the exploration loot-spew is no more. Normal looting at sites resumed on test server with it being rolled out to Tranquility early June (3rd I think).

Lonnnnng time ago. My name is not on that monument. 1 billion plus a Macharial sitting there unused.
Interesting about the loot thing, did the community make a big stink about it?

Every time I think of trying Eve again, I just don't feel it. Definitely don't see it in the same way as you, time-wise, since if I'm not shooting (being shot by) other players I am pretty much in grind mode. I think I'll never get over the de-shinied ships either.

Shame that I bailed right when I was rolling in ISK and my favourite ships got some great buffs.

Well that's not going anywhere and will be there when/if the bug bites again.

Yes the can-spew was never embraced however some have said resorting back to straight looting is lazy. It also seems the potential value of sites has gone down to coincide with the removal of spew randomness. A suggestion given you have two hack attempts is to offer straight looting as a reward for a successful first hack and the spew if you get it on the second attempt.

After months of skills updating only I've been back on a bit lately and have enjoyed the solo lowsec roaming/ratting and associated cat and mouse games. My corp is pretty social and has a section of null carved out which enables chit-chat, scouting, intel and null exploration so that's ok for snippets here and there which is all I can allocate. Not sure if RL can accommodate setting nights aside for coordinated roams. Corp rules of engagement means roams can yield little to no action anyway. I've been on a couple of those. Boring.

For now I'm getting something out of being a casual yet prosperous player. My lowsec Wolf is a PvE dual prop fit. I might get a PvP ship down there as I've seen the odd red miner drop in and out. That's my only viable opportunity for solo PvP given current corp rules. That Eve aesthetic remains as attractive as ever and keeps me ticking things over.

Oh, and World of Darkness got canned. CCP have emphatically stated they're 100% Eve universe.

Yeah heard about that. I wonder what's happening with Dust though. It's odd to me that it had such deliberate, no-brainer potential for growth... then they stuck it on an aging console.

Dust servers will kick on however CCP have announced Project Legion for PC. They say it will be a competitive multiplayer FPS as per Dust but will also incorporate wider PvE sandbox elements.

There's a stickied Reddit thread which explains it: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
~TL;DR~

The largest coalition in the game decided to take a poke at the numerically inferior Low Sec alliances. Instead of crumbling as expected to the superpower, they banded together and pushed them back out of their area of space, taking all of the big coalition's income in the area as they did.

Once people saw it was possible to beat this super-coalition, most of the player groups in the game decided to band together, with encouragement from the enormously rich I Want Isk (IWI) gambling organisation who have grievances with the super-coalitions's component alliances.

Today marked a major victory in taking the strategically important staging system of one of the super-coalition's player groups which caused that group to flip sides to the attackers.
It's funny that this thread was bumped, because I've been playing some Elite Dangerous lately at the urgeing of Mister Gun, and it's just made me realise how Eve Online is the better game in almost all ways. But without a Ranch presence I wouldn't stick with it.

Yep, if Eve was played a bit differently, I'd be all over it. My experience was that I was mostly playing menus. Elite would do well to broaden its scope.

I logged in just as they were experiencing a ddos attack. Since tried again and I can see numerous little graphics and UI upgrades. The Eve aesthetic is the best in the space videogame business IMO. I've been dropped to an NPC corporation so I have numerous ships and assets parked in now unfriendly low and null sec space. Some of those ships are stealthy though so I might have a tilt at some null sec exploration.

I genuinely never got over how they ruined all the reflective ships and the coloured lighting. I was in love with my Anathema and Malediction; it was literally the reason I trained for Amarr Interceptors. Then in one update, all ruined. Seriously I could not get past that heh.

Oh and the now-broken warp sound. Yeah it's the little superficial things I was in it for.

Hard Knocks is an infamous corporation known for espionage and general domination. A player offered $75k to anyone who can evict Hard Knocks from his/her home system. Apparently Hard Knocks are the first to have built a Keepstar Citadel - an item worth trillions of ISK that takes months to manufacture. Pretty much a Deathstar.

Enraged EVE Online Player Offers $75,000 Bounty On Enemy Corporation

Heather Alexandra

EVE Online can get pretty intense. From battles that cost $300,000 in damages to histories so complex that a book was written about them, the long running MMO can get very serious. Now, a personal disagreement has led to a hefty bounty.

In a Reddit post, user holder2k has offered $75,000 for the eviction of Hard Knocks Inc. from their home star system lovingly called Rage. Alliances and corporations can claim sovereignty over space in EVE and can that claim can be removed by attacking a command node. The money will be paid through Paypal and split between the number of participants in the operation if it is successful.

The source of the conflict seems to arise from a series of chat logs between a member of Hard Knocks named “NoobMan” and another player “HeWhoShallNotBe Named.” The latter was banned from the Hard Knocks public channel and gave NoobMan his contact information so they could sort the matter out, later alleging that his phone number was distributed to other Hard Knocks members who then called to harass him.

“That number was a work number for a large global bank where I’m International Legal Council,” HeWhoShallNotBe Named claimed. “The bank has now turned it over to the federal authorities to investigate.”

Regardless of the veracity of this statement, the visible spat between players and threat of possible legal action has already led to much grief. Hard Knocks struck back against against HeWhoShallNotBe Named’s corporation, swiftly evicting them from their star systems in retaliation for the bounty. All of this is complicated by the fact that no one knows for certain if holder2k and HeWhoShallNotBe Named are the same person.

It remains to be see if the bounty will be claimed. Hard Knocks owns a devastating Keepstar citadel, a huge space station with a massive laser weapon that can turn entire fleets into scrap. Keepstars are valued at around $15,000. Destroying Hard Knocks’ holdings would do a lot of damage to their checkbooks but it seems like a flat out suicide mission given their defenses.

A comprehensive post at PC Gamer helps to outline the situation further. It notes that holder2k’s efforts appear to violate the game’s terms of service wherein players agree not to market services or goods directly for cash.

Basically, it’s a giant and expensive clusterfuck at this point. Or as they call it in EVE: “Tuesday.”

It seems you can now play Eve for free albeit as a restricted 'alpha state clone', one that trains slower and is restricted to tech 1 frigates, destroyers and cruisers from your faction only. Subbed players are 'omega state clones' and are unchanged. I wonder if that means my character is accruing skill points again. Apparently if you are subbed and lapse to alpha you keep your assets but your access to them is restricted until you hand over cash or plex.

Anyway free Eve is a big deal. I know some GR folk enjoyed tinkering around with it and now you can without having to hand over dollerydoos.
