I'd pay a ridiculous amount of money simply to hear the course select music playing in unison over 8 V.R. machines in an arcade.

Perfect length for a ringtone, too. And LOL at the top comment on that video.

Just looks like an emulator to me. I'm surprisingly fine with that. Hopefully that means more Model 2 games being released!

Nope. There be motion blurring effects that weren't on model 2.

Looks like it controls like Dreamcast Daytona, with how quickly the back of the car is flicking out.

Sep, hopefully on wheel it controls like arcade ver and not dreamcast :P

:btw: sega should port top skater with kinect support :rollin:

The soundtrack to Daytona USA is probably one of the worst things you can expose yourself to.... but fuck I love it.

That's what I thought too, but there's nothing in that clip that you won't see in that M2Emu emulator. There's a whole bunch of crazy shit that emulator supports that isn't in the original hardware

1080p or higher, triple buffering, FSAA, AF, Stereoscopic rendering. Man, that thing is the shit.

*goes to play Sega Rally*

Yeah first thing i noticed was all the pop is gone. Looks fucking nice.

I thought sega lost the source code to daytona hence we'll only see it emulated or recreated entirely.

well I'm happy to be proven wrong. Kinda - why no retexturing then? - but I honestly don't remember popup in the arcades. M2Emu's good, but not perfect, after all.

The most important thing for me is the control layout. Essential is Dreamcast style one button for each gear so as to copy the H pattern shifter of the arcade. The same ability as the arcade cabinets to throw it from fourth to first without cycling through all the gears. Otherwise not interested. Lol at the lag when getting online with Dreamcast Daytona and playing overseas via half speed dial up modem.

i'm actually happy it isn't redone with new textures, purely for nostalgia value... plus Daytona still looks good to me, I prefer the original blocky cars to those in the dreamcast version, and the scenery flies past so fast and smooth, it's so good! :D
it smacks of old school Sega at their best... I love Model 2!!!

I bet you'd scream if it was done with Saturn textures and pop-in, though! Shit, for nostalgia value they should include a Saturn mode with the same resolution, textures, pop-in and slowdown as on the SS.

if it was arcade level pop in and textures id be more than fine with it...

i was hugely let down when i first played daytona on saturn and it seems like ive been waiting forever for a port that does the game justice (even though emulation PC has it covered there is still glitches with the emulation that is annoying)

Oh man that looks good. No screwups, no stupid new changes, just solid classic Daytona done justice. Nothing to irritatingly distract from reliving the original game. Noice. That actually gets me hyped, because it is solid Daytona

Does indeed look like DC handling though.

You'd need a wheel with H shifter support, so...

$500+ for a Fanatec wheel is your only option, for 360.
For PS3, you can pick up a G27 or G25, possibly others. G27 is sub 300, not sure about others.

If it had Kinect support you could use the Wii Mario Kart wheel!
