Wait this works with the old force feedback wheel? Cannot wait till I get home now.

Remember how the arcade had hilariously strong force feedback that just got plain out of control if you weren't ready for it?

....ahhh yeah.

Also, I can't believe MS discontinued the Wireless Force Feedback Wheel. It's a fucking brilliant piece of kit.

Anyone want a game? All I can find online is beginner course and game mode A (i.e. catch up and no damage going around in a fucking circle).

haha, I learned a thing or 2

1- I fucking suck arse at the expert course!
2- I fucking suck arse when there's tyre degradation in play

thanks for the games Boomy!!

Boost start is a huge advantage... takes practice to get the timing down!!

hold brake down, hover revs in the yellow zone, release brake on go (keep revs in yellow), just after wheels stop spinning (after45mph?) floow it, get ready to shift to 2nd when the needs zips up to the red... say sayonara to the pack!

I got my chair and MS wireless feedback wheel out and set it all up yesterday.
Oh yeah, this is sweeeet.
Like someone said on GAF, this is the closest you're going to get to having a Daytona machine in your home, without having an actual machine.

One thing though. The force feedback defaults to 5. I went in there and pumped it up to 10, and get a more realistic Daytona experience.

So, I purchased this game after reading this thread. I'm not happy. The handling is terrible on a controller. The online is jerky.

Jizz, even my best lap time x 4 is several seconds longer than your total time.
I don't brake when I drift, should I be? How the fuck are you shaving off so much time?

it's all about how you drift, my gear sequences are very fast but balls to the wall critical, easy to fuck up.

an example is the first tough corner leading up to the 2nd checkpoint... drive a good line then drop to 2nd to get sideways, then quickly go straight back to 4th and you can fly through between 315 to 320 kph.

and the next right hander you use the 2,4 sequence aswell, but unless you slow down a bit you won't make the corner, a quick flick to 3rd then back to 4th will swing your car back without losing much speed.

next corner is 1,4 because 2nd doesn't seem to get you sideways.

dinosaur corner is all about setup, if you're going fast you side on the right half of the track, just after the bridge thingo move to the left before flicking hard right and shift to 2nd at the same time, you get a feel for when you're sideways enough before shifting back to 4, you can take that bend at around 300kph!!! it's really hard to get right, but when you do it feels awesome, and the car makes it around easily!! you end up going through the start/finish line at 320kph at times, that's a huge time shaver because it takes ages to get back to that speed.

i'm yet to nail 4 laps, my best lap time is something like 43.5 seconds, should get under 3 mins with a good race

jizz - can you down shift to 2 directly or do you have to go through 3? I was having trouble the other day going straight to two so I've been going through three, but I think it was my steering technique that was actually wrong.
