What sports game should I GET next?

OK so the demos for NBA2K7 and FIFA07 are fucking great, even though NBA looks a lot like an Xbox game. And with Madden 07 sucking copious amounts of horse cock this year I need a decent sports game with which to sink in retarded amounts of time. I'm the sort of guy who struggles to play more than one sports game seriously at a time, hence THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.

I'll brake down the pros and cons as I see it -

NBA2K7 pros:

Less than $100, which is great value given how good the NBA2K series has been.
I love basketball.
It's not from EA which in next-gen terms means it's less likely to FUCKING SUCK

NBA2K7 cons:

It looks like an Xbox game with cloth animation.

FIFA07 pros:

The fact I'm considering buying a FIFA game in the face of an impending PES release says a lot given that I left the FIFA fold quite a while ago. Like...10 years ago. OK I did play 01 a bit but it was more the PS2 launch novelty thing.

The game just seems like it'll be shit hot.

FIFA07 cons:

I'm not the biggest soccer fan in the world, and quite frankly I don't understand or know the players/sport as well as I do basketball.

I need advice.

You should buy whichever one has been four years in the making and more expensive to develop than any other game in Nintendo history.

Have you considered the 07 crop of NHL games? I'm thinking of grabbing 2k7 if I can find it this week - I've heard that EA's non-effort is pretty to look at but missing modes 'n stuff. I'd be hoping to play a season in co-op over LIVE if possible. Anyone played 'em?

Although FIFA 07 will be a prettier game, PES will crap on FIFA in the gameplay stakes!

NBA2K7 is getting good reviews too.

Well I reckon we might have enough interset around her for a 2K7 online league if that tickles your fancy? I'll definately be up for it, I'm assuming pilon, kanga etc will want in on it to. So with that in mind I said go with 2K7, you've got the season mode, franchise, 24/7 etc.

Yeah, I returned mine after 3 days, didnt like it at all.

Anyway, why not go for NHL2k7 or you not into hockey games?

NBA2K7 is the winner, not of this poll but I've decided on that anyway.

I might be keen for a soccer game this year anyway but I'll see how PES goes. Hope there's a demo coming for it. Didn't PES on Xbox play like shit online as well?

PES5 polayed like shit online, yep.. but the online component has been totally redone for the 360.. so hopefully it is massively improved. The more I played of the Fifa demo the less I liked. It's still unresponsive at times, and the tackling is odd... the players bounce into each other quite a bit, and when they do, they're stunned for a while, so even when you're closer to the ball, half of the time you don't end up getting it because you're player is in a SF2 like stun. Shooting is hard to control, and the animations when shooting are average. The amount of times a shot has blasted wide for me is crazy. The easiest way to score, I have found is to dribble the ball into the box.

It's still quite fun to play, but if I'm getting tired of the demo already, then that doesn't give the actual game that much chance. PES5 is still a leader over this in my books, so if PES6 is an improvement over 5, then it's an easy win for PES.

Somtimes. The rubberband AI is infuriating. If Blitz The League were to get a local release I'd easily recommend that instead.

Argh!!! Fuck this pisses me off. A friend and I bought NHL 2k7 with the hope that we could play a season together in co-op over LIVE, but we can't. Which is stupid, because we played a few quick play matches which were great fun, so the game is capable of it. Plus you can have full seasons and leagues with up to 30 players on LIVE, so it's capable of that too. But it doesn't put those two things together, which means all we can do is play quick matches, which means it's probably going back to EB.

Why the fuck don't these people consider co-op?

I've never seen a co-op season mode over Live before. Single box, yeah but not Live.
