The following months will have plenty of exciting progress in store as several key features are due to be added to Project CARS. Starting with build 129 that was released on Friday, the title is currently receiving a major overhaul to the Force Feedback & input system.
Progress doesn’t stop there as plenty of other high-profile features are due to be added in the first months of 2012, including:
Night Lighting
Dynamic Time/Weather System
Tire Deformations
Racing School
Multiplayer
Pit-to-Car Radio
and much more…
Aside from these exciting new features, our busy development team is of course working on plenty of new content as well. Next week’s build of Project CARS will give members the first chance to sample the Ariel Atom V8 as well as the Northampton circuit with much more content still in the pipeline!
Want to make sure you don’t miss any of these exciting new features? Then join WMD and become a member , get racing with the current development build and be among the first to receive the new features as they´re rolled out.
Also, don’t forget to subscribe to the RSS feed and follow Project CARS & Slightly Mad Studios on Twitter.
This is looking fantastic. From the guys that made GTR (SimBin), and later the Shift series. Seems like they got bored of pumping out playschool shit and have gone back to the hardcore sim market. I fucking love open-wheelers so this is perfect for me. They're also using a strange business model where you can 'invest' in the development to get access to builds of the game and other dev stuff based on what level you purchase. The idea is that they will give the larger cut of profits back to the members. Say if they sold 1M copies, a 12 euro investment will return 45 euro. Pretty neat if that really happens but not the only reason why I'd sign up. Good read about it all in this PDF.
Oh I forgot to mention. It has Bathurst (currently WIP):

That looks shit. No wait, what’s the term I’m thinking of? Fucking sensational! Some of the early footage in that first video had me thinking about the old Grand Prix Legends, and any game that includes Bathurst must be oroight.
...and now the end of that video has me thinking about that old Melbourne House Le Mans 24Hr game, which was also fun. I would love something that could give me the feel of the old GPL though. Myself and a mate used to play that with at full whatever settings and I don’t think we ever won a race, but it was heaps fun anyway just trying to make it to the finish.

Yeah I instantly had GPL flashbacks, this looks ace
I’ll wait for Geoff Crammond’s ah fuckit joke dead.
Those images of what I assume to be a Lotus 49 look fucking...I dunno, what do kids say these days – radian. Fully vomit. I don’t suppose it has the Brabham BT24 in there too? In GPL we always drove for team Repco because hey, if you’re going to lose anyway and most likely not even finish the race then you may as well have an excuse. Plus Aussie.
Being an old master at GPL (Old skool Nurburgring and Spa endurance races ftw!) I think it is in everyones best interest that I cheat at this as well. Some time next week I will look at putting some money into it.
