Steam sale - what have you picked up?

Post by Candy Arse »

So far for me -

Star Wars KOTOR
Saints Row The Third
Trine 2
The Walking Dead

Hoping Dead Space 1 and 2 come up in this sale. I want to go through them on Master Race and offload the PS3 games.

Pretty tame so far for me.

Crusader Kings II
Tropico 4
Binding of Isaac

Dead Space was a flash sale yesterday. But it's cheaper in the US, was still $18 here.

Hoping for Driver San Francisco or the Civ 5 expansion.

Good to see you getting in on Saints Row Candy

$15 for it, worth the risk.

The Walking Dead is great Candy, definitely worth playing through each part in one sitting at a time (roughly 3hrs each ep). I picked up the Season Pass for PS3 and have enjoyed both so far (and I've never seen the show, nor know anything about the comics).

I didn't even know there was a sale. Tempted on a few games, but nothing really stands out, although I am tempted to see what this Dear Esther is about, even though the Metacritic doesn't seem too favourable. I've definitely never heard anyone talking about it.

Picked up Bioshock 1 and 2 as although I own 1 on the 360 I far prefer mouse and keyboard for FPS'es. Also got one of the indie bundles for Botanicula, and picked up From Dust and Trine 1 and 2.

As much as I'm loving the Assassin's Creed franchise at the moment, I'm not sure I could recommend picking up PC versions of them.
When I had issues with the 360 version of their Uplay system, I was reading up on Ubi's boards, and it seems that the PC version of uPlay (which acts as DRM as well as a store) is seriously screwed up. Keys not working, games not playable, savefiles being lost, etc.

It's unfortunately a case of DRM = Deters Real Money. The console versions don't suddenly stop working when Ubisoft can't keep their shit together, but the PC versions will have better performance (given a PC with sufficient grunt). As a result, if you don't care about the multiplayer portion of the game, a pirated/cracked PC copy is the best decision.

Far too fucking much. Sitting at $135 at the moment. But that has netted me Rayman Origins, Max Payne 3, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, AssBro, Arkham City, Race Injection/On/GTR:Evo... amongst other things.

Got Driver today

Just waiting for Anno to drop now. Probably will be only 50% so it's unlikely I get it.

It was $5 mid June. :P

What is the current Communities Choice game? Says it's not valid in my region, yet prior to this we could vote on all three. I think I chose Two Worlds II.

Well I paid $4 for Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box...

...but I never paid for Driver. Shaneus gifted it to me in return for teaching him to cheat at driving games.

How does it run on Win7? Does it look better than the PS3 version?
