If you haven't already got it, now is a good time to pick up Squad for $30. Squad is a UE4 title, which originated from a Battlefield 2 mod called Project Reality, though I never played it. I've got over 200 hours on Squad and it's still in alpha, which gives you an idea on what I think of it. Here's my review on steam:
Alpha 6 is such a fantastic infantry team shooter. Its gameplay reminds me of America's Army but with more of a focus on squad communication and teamwork. The maps are also bigger: more on the scale of Battlefield, and will have vehicles as early as the next version (Alpha 7). It's part mil-sim and part competitive shooter with a dash of strategic fortification building for good measure. A hell of a lot of fun! The community as a whole is what really makes this game enjoyable, so if you buy this expecting to be a lone wolf you won't have a good time. Grab a headset and get immersed in some of the most intense combat scenarios you'll get on a PC.
I'd recommend Karmakut's videos to get a feel for gameplay:

Steam going slower than usual for anyone else?

It used to max out my connection but lately it's going at half the speed, even during the early morning. Could it be because of the steam sale? Like it said, it's during early morning, thought it wouldn't make a difference.

So I had an issue with my monitor ( see master race thread) restarted PC and my download speed improved. Ended up finishing my download quicker than usual.

Surprisingly was pretty sensible. Bought Steamworld Heist.. but all the other stuff was work/sound related as I am about to start doing exercise vlogs and I am designing my own CG intro and music. Steam sells VST Instruments and one of my all time fave VSTs was reduced from 99 to 29 bucks. SCORE.

I've picked up Hollow Knight, and have another 16 games on my list ready to buy if I feel like it. I still have around $130US in my Steam wallet due to Christmas gift cards, and I'm getting sick of it sitting there.

Nothing yet. Unsure if I will. I'm going through the sticker book thing and unsure if I get anything if I complete it, but if one of the challenges is to buy a game then I'll grab a bargain.

Been a decent sale, picked up most of what I wanted on my wishlist plus some old classics -

STALKER: Call of Pripyat
Portal 2
Left for Dead 1 & 2
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
Hollow Knight
Max Payne 3
Elite Dangerous Horizons
Redout Neptune DLC

Hollow Knight has defintely been the stand out for me, wanted the full game for a while.

Remember that on 1 July all the prices will go up by 10% because Steam will start adding GST due to the "Netflix tax".

TIL. Reason supports VST now so it'd be nice to keep them tied to a single Steam account instead of having licenses all over the place. Will keep an eye out for the intro!

Have Valve confirmed that they're actually doing this? I mean, it's completely unenforceable.

...which does not necessarily reflect the views of my employer, obviously.

Bought a stream link from EB for 27 bucks, hooked it up last night using cat6... What a laggy piece of shit!
Tested with rocket league and it was unplayable.

I have played Xbox one rocket league on my PC through the Xbox app and it was great.

Steam link?

I brought one back from the US with me last year. Tried to play a few things on it and it sucked. Stuff like Hitman and XCOM was ok but I'd never play anything that required quick timing.

How did you have it connected? I wouldn't use it wirelessly. I was going to get one and connect via 1200mbps powerline adaptors.

I was homer seeing Mr. T this time. Just logged in to pick something up just before it ends to find its over. Probably a good thing, I went a bit crazy with retro game purchases this week.

Had it via powerline adapters but mine were 500mbps I think. Should probably give it another try
