The third parties must be angry that nintendo games are doing well and hate the idea that first party titles make good use of the hardware features of the consoles that they make. (ie would F-zero be the same without LR buttons, or Zelda Skyward Sword be as good without the waggle?)
The idea of hardware tailor made for the software is too much for them.
Vzzbx just doesn't get it... Nintendo's strength is that we buy their gadgets as a type of cool toy not as a mutlimedia gadget. Only the non-gamers want nintendo to go to phones."They could easily put Mario on the iPad tomorrow if they so wished," Livingstone said at the time. "They've got lots of options, lots of IP, and a tremendous amount of cash."
Why would I want to play Kirby Mass Attack on phone when I have the superior nintendo DS or 3DS to enjoy it on? I can see nintendo going in the path of the software only route like sega did IF they didn't know what they were doing but they KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. All the software is good enough to buy the hardware for to play. That's why the loss of EA support doesn't phase them. Any other company it would because they are not pure game companies. Westerners make mostly pc games and mindless shooters with grtty settings that do not appeal to the all ages groups. Nintendo games are universal to all ages. It's best they continue on dedicated devices since it gives them the ability to create the software around the hardware ability. Much like how when arcade games are created: sometimes the cabinet is unique to the game idea or core concept. For instance a light gun game is going to have a gun to hold in your hands. or a fighting game might have 6 buttons to do all the moves etc. *sigh*
Do these people not understand that games like Zenonia and other type of mobile games available on eshop actually play BETTER WITH BUTTONS? These non-gaming idiots are insane.
