Re: 10M SWITCH'S SOLD IN 9 MONTHS (XB1 TOOK 1 YEAR TO REACH

Post by klee123 »

I think this year for me was a terrible year for new Japanese game announcements on PS4, whilst the Switch seems to be getting quite a few Japanese games exclusive on the system.

Times are truly changing for me.

Nintendo Switch certainly is snagging some very important exclusives (e.g. Shin Megami Tensei 4, Bayonetta 3) with all the leading Japanese developers (Square-Enix, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Koei Tecmo, etc) also confirming they have a ton of Nintendo Switch exclusive and non-exclusive games in development that they are yet to formally announce.

Speaking of Japan...I think some here are underestimating just how much the Nintendo Switch is DECIMATING the Playstation 4 in the motherland.

In just 9 MONTHS, Nintendo have sold approximately 2.8 million Switch's in Japan (even with MASSIVE stock shortages), whilst Sony have sold approximately 5.6 million PS4's in Japan. This means NINTENDO SWITCH IN JUST 9 MONTHS HAS ALREADY SOLD MORE THAN HALF OF PS4'S JAPANESE LIFETIME SALES SINCE LAUNCHING ALMOST 4 YEARS AGO!!!

Furthermore last week in Japan...NINTENDO SOLD APPROXIMATELY 200K SWITCH'S WHILST SONY ONLY SOLD APPROXIMATELY 79K PS4'S. :P

SUCK ON THAT XBOTS/SDF!!! NINTENDO'S FAMICOM ERA DOMINATION OF JAPAN IS BACK!!!

AND HOLY SHIT...WAIT UNTIL NINTENDO RELEASES THE LIKES OF POKEMON & ANIMAL CROSSING...WITH LITERALLY THE TWO BEST SELLING GAMES IN JAPANESE HISTORY (BESIDES SUPER MARIO BROS) BEING POKEMON & ANIMAL CROSSING!!!

Congrats Nitnedno!

PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 70,000,000

Xbox One Total Sales: 31,176,640

Switch Total Sales: 10,000,000

iPhone - over 1 billion
Switch - 10,000,000

If the Switch keeps selling at this rate, it'll catch up to the PS4 in 2023 provided the PS4 sells 0 units between now and then!

If the Switch keeps selling at this rate, it'll catch up to the iPhone in 2093 provided the iPhone sells 0 units between now and then!

LIVE ACTION BIG BUDGET POKEMON MOVIE TO STAR RYAN REYNOLDS!

Post by Jasper »

Image

IT'S OFFICIAL!!!

Hollywood's leading heartthrob Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) will star in the live action mega big budget Pokémon movie. :)

Universal Pictures will be developing the movie with Legendary Pictures (Jurassic World, Godzilla, The Dark Knight Rises) producing it. The director is Rob Letterman (Monsters vs. Aliens, Shark Tale) and the screenplay is by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy).

In addition to Pokémon, Universal Pictures are also developing a Super Mario Bros. big budget animated movie. The movie will be developed by the same studio behind some of the highest grossing animated movie franchises in history, including Despicable Me and Minions.

It also makes perfect sense that Nintendo is partnering with Universal Pictures to make these films, considering that Super Nintendo World is now under construction at Universal Studios Japan (and construction to also begin soon at Universal Studios in Orlando and in Hollywood).

Super Nintendo World will include Nintendo themed rides, interactive areas, cafes & restaurants, merchandise retail stores, etc.

Universal Studios is actually spending MORE money (over half a billion dollars for Japan alone) to develop this theme park, than even the Harry Potter World at Universal Studios (and Super Nintendo World is also going to be BIGGER in size than Harry Potter).

MARIO IS HEADING TO THE BIG SCREEN IN ONE OF THE HIGHEST-PROFILE LICENSING DEALS BY A HOLLYWOOD STUDIO IN YEARS

Image

Illumination Entertainment, which makes animated films for Comcast Corp.'s Universal Pictures, is close to an agreement with Nintendo Co. to make an animated "Super Mario Bros." movie based on the 32-year-old videogame series about a pair of sibling plumbers who fight evil turtles and mushrooms in a fantasy kingdom, said people with knowledge of the discussions.

The most complicated issue in the negotiations between Illumination and Nintendo has been making the Japanese videogame company feel confident it will be involved enough in the creative process, said one person close to the talks. Nintendo's creative guru, Shigeru Miyamoto, who created Mario Bros., has been part of the talks and likely will be a producer on the movie, along with Mr. Meledandri, this person said.

The agreement could allow Illumination to make multiple "Super Mario" movies, though only one is currently planned, this person added. It would be animated by Illumination's Paris studio Mac Guff and is in the early stages of development, meaning it likely wouldn't come out for several years.

You're not paying attention!

The Super Mario Bros. movie will be a big budget animated movie being handled by the same studio of two of the highest grossing animated movie franchises in history (Despicable Me and Minions).

Pokémon on the other hand will be a live action big budget movie being handled by the same studio of Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight' trilogy. Quite frankly, after seeing the Pokémon Super Bowl commercial... you can see just how much potential Pokémon has to make both Universal Pictures and Nintendo hundreds upon hundreds of millions of dollars!

Just playing through Zelda and first Shrine I've encountered with motion controls - it fucking sucks. Using the Pro Controller and its sucking the fun out of the Shrine challenge. I expect imprecise motion shit on a 99 cent iPad game, not on a 1st party Nintendo title.

They were horrible. I hated doing them because of how bad they were implemented and it was frustrating, but thankfully there’s only a few of them.

I've had absolutely no problems with the motion controls in Zelda: BOTW! :P

Have y'all updated & re-calibrated the controllers? :?

A lot of people seem to forget that the Joy-Con's had their own individual update a while back. This is a non-automatically download update that is completely separate from the firmware updates. You have to go to the controller settings to complete the update (and you may as well re-calibrate whilst you're there).

Nintendo have done this for over a decade now, ruining games with their forced waggle shit.

Wait until you play Mario Odyssey - they hit you over the head with a sledgehammer trying to force fucking waggle on you.

A terrible approach, an anti-gamer approach

Manual updates? Great to see that Nintendo have caught up with the PCs of the 90s. Next you'll tell us we have to download winrar and extract the files.

In the end I had to flip the controller upside down to do the challenge, WTF? Seriously gave me the shits, otherwise a good game so far. A little too early for me to compare to Horizon Dawn (yet to completely finish) but motion controls have knocked this game down a peg. Not looking forward to Mario if it's pushing the same agenda, fuck off with the waggle, reason why I never bought the Wii.

Horizon is a much better game, let alone Witcher 3 so set your expectations accordingly.

BoTW is 2005's best open world game.

Witcher 3 is the Gold standard bar none. Put nearly 80 hours into that game.

Not according to Metacritic or the 2017 Game Awards (with Zelda decimating Horizon in every single category)... 8)

BoTW isn't in the same class as Witcher 3 in any area, but if you treat it like a PS2-era GTA open world (and visually) you might get a few fun hours out of it.

Console launched with a glitch and that glitch was Waggle, should patch that out. News flash, no one really likes it and finds it ruins the experience.
