Wtf monster hunter world confirmed for the PS4! Switch in damage control.

Uh, actually no...this is old news.

It was leaked months ago that Monster Hunter World (a MH spin-off game) was coming to PS4, whilst the main franchise will remain exclusive to Nintendo - with Monster Hunter 5 currently in development for Switch.

There has been multiple Monster Hunter spin-off games on other systems and PC since the main franchise became exclusive to Nintendo...it's not really that big of a deal.

There was even a Monster Hunter spin-off game released just last year on PS4...

And now we have Monster Hunter 5 - only it's called Monster Hunter World and there's no word of a version for Nintendo hardware.

It looks good, may get me to finally purchase the Switch, but some of the textures and graphics in that game look way dated

I haven't seen any gameplay from that game yet that looks fun. Don't get me wrong, EAD are the masters, so maybe all the footage shown so far has all been poorly chosen, but it looks super underwhelming to me thus far.

After Game Informer's hands on, there was this consensus that it didn't at all feel like the kind of freedom and sense of control that Mario 64 or Sunshine allowed, since Nintendo have been marketing this idea that it's a follow-up to those games.

I am lost for words why anyone would think EAD Tokyo would develop a bad Mario game, when history has shown every single Mario game they have ever developed has been spectacular.

Remember...they only showed a handful of levels from just 2 Kingdoms. They aren't going to shoot their load and show everything about the game.

Unlike you lot, at least the gaming press are loving it. IGN just crowned Super Mario Odyssey as E3 2017's game of the show!

At least the gaming press? Giant Bomb are the gaming press, the gaming press who gave Mario Maker GOTY, and they were just as nonplussed as Eurogamer.

Guess what? I'm pretty sure everyone was "nonplussed" by Super Mario Odyssey's trailer - you know, with the whole Mario turning into a dinosaur, a frog, a fish, a robot, a bullet, a tank, a statue, a taxi...etc.

But it's OK babes, you keep trying to force yourself into hating on Super Mario Odyssey to help keep your sanity (the alternative is you having to acknolewdge yourself being only 4 months away from missing out on a fantastic looking 4 years in the making Mario platformer being developed by a team who have only ever developed spectacular Mario platformers.

Yes, both Giant Bomb and Eurogamer were surprised at how sparse the game felt. And in the case of Giant Bomb, they were put off by the controls. Good to know I'm using a word correctly according to Jasper who struggles with your vs you're constantly

But that's ok, we live in a world where it's a 1st party Nintendo game so we all know 10's will be coming thick and fast!

It would also seem Jasper no longer wishes to discuss anything related to Monster Hunter!

I have read comments elsewhere from youtube that this one might be spin-off of the main series to please the next gen crowd who wants to see a home console MH game.

Keep in mind there are clones of MH on PC like Dauntless (free) which are looking like they rip off the franchise so cacom would be wise to launch this game soon to cut into whatever profits these cloners are going to make bringing PC gamers a MH title. We all know these PC guys are thirst y for new games that they couldn't get from the console machines. LOL

For those who are too poor to buy games because you are a pc thief who lives in mom's basement and don't want to go to EB Games and buy physical games and keep retailers alive so the digital stores don't overprice all our games in the future when they have a monopoly on supply, ...you should check Dauntless out when it releases.

I think MH fans in japan may not care for MH as a open world thing because they probably see the franchise as a handheld game more. Just a guess here. So this next gen Monster Hunter world title is capcom's way of trying to get the western gamers into the series.

Keep in mind there is even a kiddy monster hunter game coming out on 3DS too.

Capcom is milking this franchise like they did Megaman. I said it before and I will say it again: Monster Hunter is the new "megaman" of today's capcom. It just needs to get noticed by the round-eyes crowd and the only thing I think holding it back was the fact that handhelds were not as popular in the west as in japan. So perhaps this MH World title is thier final attempt to make it into a big thing that catches on by using updated visuals to get people to check it out. Dark Souls managed to slowly build its audience over time so it is an experiment worth taking imo. If it fails the MH clones can carry the torch for the genre.

I did, and have been playing it all day.

It's fucking fantastic. I've been playing mostly as the slutty character - Twintelle.

Have played with both motion controls and traditional controls, and motion controls is definitely more enjoyable!

The first of many free DLC content for the game has also been revealed, and it will be a "Spectator Mode", and a brand new fighter...Max Brass.
