The only reason Zelda is still in the Top 10 is because there's nothing else to buy.

I fucking love the system. I think it's Nintendo's best hardware, easily, since the SNES. For indie games it's pretty much my go-to machine now as you don't need grunt to run them and the ability to take it all away on trips etc is brilliant. It's also the first system where I actually have no interest in buying physical copies of games. It makes total sense to buy digital for this thing.
However, BoTW is still hideously overrated.

Sweet, looking forward to picking it up today. My buy Mario Kart and Zelda today, Mario on launch. It's great being an unbiased gamer.

SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY (NINTENDO SWITCH) - 7 DAYS TO GO!!!
Yeah, candy I picked up a 200gb card off eBay for $115 delivered. Another great thing is how small Nintendo first part games are. Zelda is the largest at 12gb?, but other titles such as ARMS, Splatoon 2 are a few gigs and Mario will be 5gb.
Tried the record feature on Zelda last night. 30 seconds came to 18.5mb. Quality on the Switch screen was acceptable.

Re: SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY (NINTENDO SWITCH) - 7 DAYS TO GO!!!
I've been close to pulling the trigger on one, but I look at the game selection and that stops me, there just aren't enough games to justify it right now. I agree it does look like Nintendo's best attempt at hardware in a long while.
I've never been a big fan of their franchises, I outgrew that stuff a long time ago. So I need good strong 3rd party to keep me engaged. So far I still fail to see 3rd parties really embrace the system, we've just got some old ports so far and indies. That might change next year since I think a lot of the industry was caught flat footed, so I'm glad to wait until the library fills up, I already have too much to play now and not enough free time.

SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY (NINTENDO SWITCH) - 7 DAYS TO GO!!!
I always look for three games on any console - with Mario about to drop that was enough to pull the trigger. The console itself is stIll too expensive but YOLO. I was going to hold off for a price drop but the wife really took to mario kart on the SNES and has been dropping hints for a while. First impressions are good, the system and controllers are tiny, going to get a conventional controller at some point.

Still trying to push the 'digital-future only' agenda I see. You are a retard for this reason:Candy Arse wrote:

However, BoTW is still hideously overrated.
if tomorrow you were to die in a car accident because nintendo fans found out where you were and decided to go all antifa on you with bikelocks, your children wouldn't be able to inherit the games because they are tied to an account. they wouldn't be able to sell them to buy cool things and it would make your purchases useless to them as those games are tied to you who is now dead. Think about it: why have people still chosen to buy retail even though after all this time it is still more inconvenient due to having to wait for the thing to arrive in the mail or travel via car/bus./limo/helicopter/private jet to the local ebgames/jb to pick it up?
Because digital is a scheme to eliminate competition completely. Once we all convert to a digital-only future, they keep prices high. Same thing happened with diamond industry before people could create diamonds in labs. Diamonds were not rare, the elite just bought up all the mines and had monopoly and kept the value high by limiting supply which increased demand by giving us the belief that they were rare. But it was only artificial scarcity. You live in an amoral world where men are getting arse raped in courts and gays are taking over the churches telling christians they must sin to be inclusive and SJWs are infiltrating gaming websites to push left wing agendas.
Don't go digital you retard. Buy from EB unless the game is out of print or unavailable as physical copy. Yes steam has cheap games but that is only because piracy keep the price down. Nothing to do with digital being good idea because value will be passed down to the consumer. Most greedy businessmen know that when you limit the options for consumsers in how they buy, they can better control how the consumer uses the thing he owns. Digital technology is one way the corporations can limit our usage of things we own and paid for. It is also a way for the elites to delete certain books that they disagree with by having everyone have to access them from a central location which they control.
There is all kinds of technology now that the elites are coming up with to for example spy on what you upload to social media and the government is going to try to make this universal. (when we have a one world government for instance you might not be able to read a book that went out of print because the government banned it from the list of books that they want people to read. (the anti-christ will monitor all the pipes for what information is going through them.)
If you had the physical book/game you don't have to worry about all this stuff. Trust me: business and government are control freaks. They want to monitor everything you do on the micro level so they can redistribute resources by stealing them from the hard working people to give to the undeserving poor. (the deserving poor is ok since they are not at fault for thier poverty, but it doesn't matter to central planners who is bad poor guy and who is a good poor guy)

Re: SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY (NINTENDO SWITCH) - 7 DAYS TO GO!!!
With sales of the Swithc doing so well I wonder why capcom doesn't go back to its old games like Dragon's Dogma and Street Fighter 4 Ultra and port those games to the little screen already? These were last gen titles that would look great on a small portable machine due to being old in the graphics. But on a tiny screen and low spec machine it would suit it perfectly since it A) pads the library of third party games and B) gives people an excuse to double dip now that you can easily play on the go. Something that wasn't an option before.lestat wrote:I've been close to pulling the trigger on one, but I look at the game selection and that stops me, there just aren't enough games to justify it right now. Things that need to be ported to the little screen:
Megaman Legacy collection
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology
SF4 Ultra
Dragons Dogma
Street Fighter III Third Strike
Okami HD (eshop)
MVC3U (even the Vita got this)
Darkstalkers colection
The portable nature of the system means arcadey fighting games would do well. But unlike the 3DS and vita ports the switch would be able to handle the games without backgrounds suffering.
This is capcom's chance to mine all their old IPs for easy money. (just like they are doing with re-releasing dragon's dogma again for PC and current gen consoles)
With the advances in cartridge tech, you wouldn't have long loading times or worry about optical drives wearing out from overuse. The switch version would be the definitive version to play because it lets you take it with you, you get decent screen, and the squished screen makes the graphics look ok despite being aged last gen graphics which were originally designed to be seen on a massive tv screen in the home. (ie jaggies and low res texturing of old games isn't as big an issue on portable screen)

For those unsure what Twiztid Elf's talking about, Fire Emblem Warriors is a hack & slash videogame developed by Koei Tecmo for the Nintendo Switch. It's basically Dynasty Warriors, but in a Fire Emblem universe.
It's a completely different game from Nintendo's own mainline Fire Emblem game currently in development for Nintendo Switch and confirmed for release next year.

How the fuck did I miss this gameplay footage of Super Mario Odyssey? Nintendo's merging of both a true 3D Mario platformer with a 2D Mario platformer is magnificent!

Re: SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY (NINTENDO SWITCH) - 4 DAYS TO GO!!!
HOLY SHIT....
Some massive leaks are starting to come out about Super Mario Odyssey, and what i'm seeing is fucking incredible! There is now at least 17 kingdoms to explore and at least 500 moons to collect. Some of these kingdoms are absolutely insane and unlike anything we have ever seen in a Mario game. It will blow your mind!!!
Also if you loved Super Mario 64....you're really gonna love this game!

Re: SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY (NINTENDO SWITCH) - 4 DAYS TO GO!!!
They need to put Rayman in the game. After Mario travelled into one of ubisoft's games do you thijnk it would make sense Rayman is in a mario title?
We have seen the master sword in Skyrim on switch. Perhaps nintendo is trying to prepare us for a nintendo cinematic universe thing like marvel did with all the movies and they all appear in one big game to fight Thanos-like villain?
