Love the GiantBomb characterisation of Waggle:
Many of the games released for the Nintendo Wii take 'advantage' of the controls available by forcing the player to shake or 'waggle' the Wii remote and/or nunchuck. Waggling generally does not require skill on the part of the player; only shaking movements.
Sounds like the implementation of Waggle for Arms will suit it quite nicely.

Speaking of which, anyone listen to the Giant Bombcast today? More impressions from ARMS -

Jeff said that there's a problem where you can do certain things with the waggle controls that you can't with the other control methods, so immediately it splits up what you can and can't do based on the control method you choose.

Basically you're being forced to waggle if you want to experience the full game.

Oh well, at least it's FUN!!!!!!!, right?

It's sounding more and more like a waggle version of Virtual On for kids. Congrats Nintendo on ripping off an idea Sega had 20 years ago and then dumbing it down for your market.

Read today that Nintendo are aiming to have manufactured 20 million Switch units by March 2018. That should leave, say, 13 million odd to go around for the April 2018 fire sales? I'll give ARMS a go once all of this junk is in the bargain bin.

Here is an idea Jasper for you to pass on to nintendo:

make a Star Fox Adventures game using the Red Steel 2 style of gameplay.
You can roam around in an open world in FPV, shoot people with blaster and use beamsaber style weapon to cut through enemies like a hot knife through butter.

You've seen Star Wars. You've seen how cyborg ninja in Metal Gear Rising could rush through and kill things with ease. Let us see a adventure game centrered around FPS and melee combat with robot enemies. (no need for gore just make the enemies droids)

I think people are wrong to say they don't want motion sensing in gaming. They are just saying it when nintendo does it. They are afraid that if every game has motion sensing as a gimmick in all the traditional games, it will ruin their hobby. But it won't if the developers implement it well and they make action games designed with the gimmick in mind. (just like Lego City used the tablet effectively)

Candy:

the same thing can be said about fighting games when you only have a DPAD and not an arcade fighting stick. People with arcade fighting sticks can do things that are much harder on pads and pad people can pull off shortcuts with the shoulder buttons (eg pushing shoulder button to do the 3 punch or 3 kick spinning lariat move for zangief.

I use Gen in Street Fighter Alpha 3 a lot and changing stances mid combo is easier when you use pad shortcuts that most people are unaware of on PSP. There are many things that involve holding down three buttons simultaneously on arcdae stick controls that you can pull off with just two buttons on PSP and it makes combo easier with shoulder buttons.

Is it cheating? Nope because some complex directional input is still harder with pad compared to sticks. The grass is always greener on the other side.. People that are shit at games always whine that the controls made them shit and never their own skill being bad. You are just going to have to get used to the idea that time has moved on and fighting games have to evolve with the people who buy the games. Eg with marvel vs capcom games I always hated the idea of losing 6 buttons for normals but I realised that my brother can play a lot better with simple controls in MVC2.
The dumbing down is going to happen because speed of new fighting games is faster these days.
ARMS is not Virtual ON Rip off because VO used sticks not motion sensing. But I would love to see sega use the waggle to make a new VO franchise from it. I watch a lot of robot shows and all the fighting anime ones seem to have waggle as the method for pilots to perform striking moves with their hands. Waggle is the future according to super robot animes. The power glove was ahead of its time. If nintendo were to create the power boot, then theoretically there is nothing stopping them making a full FPV street fighter game using motion sensing. Imagine all the fat ass pc gamers trying to do guiles flash kick using their feet and trying to lift their fat legs p in the air to execute the special move? You fatties were never going to like the waggle for these reasons because you are unfit and as fat people you know you will be bad at the games due to how heavy your fat arms and legs are. No wonder you hate ARMS..

One thing to consider about Giant Bomb:
they shit on Mass Effect Andromeda.
(seek to 23:10 to hear what they say)
This is a game candy liked a lot. So we should not trust them completely if you liked Mass Effect Andromeda which is a game published by EA who now sold out to the man and now supports the nintendo switch after they abandoned the Dreamcast and the Wii U.

Make sure to think for yourself and not listen to the cult leader Candy Arse who is trying to make nintendo a third party software developer who works on pc games. (which is never going to happen - they are not sega even though they can make good rip offs of their games for Switch)

Thanks for the heads up. By then Mario should be out and that will make 2 must have games to play on the Switch. At a lower price and two great franchise games the Switch will look more like an attractive purchase

No idea what GameHED posted, probably something about how Waggle was devised by Lizzardmen to reduce the dexterity of mankind to allow for easier probing.

Wouldn't Mario be the first must-have?

Zelda = get it on Wii U for $500 less
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe = a cynical cash-grab so bad even Jasper doesn't count it in his list of official Mario Kart titles
ARMS = waggle for kids

What else is there?

Nobody believes you put people on ignore. The reason is because you said you were going to ignore Jasper but you failed to follw through with the threat. Without Jasper your meaning for being here is lost.

Until you PC fags show some respect for console you will always be left behind. Consoles can do 4K now so we have reached a point where graphics are decent enough for most people, and now we want better games. Games like Zelda BOTW. A game Giant Bomb loved. And if you like Giant Bomb, and hate Zelda BOTW, then you are not considered mentally healthy and should be put on ignore. No matter how many carers you call for assistance in the far cry 5 thread, you will always be considered suspect on these boards. You love shit EA games and hate poluished nintendo games like Zelda BOTW which got 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 from the critics that matter.

You are a shill. Nobody is convinced you even play games. Mario will be good but to be honest I am more interested in Metroid. Zelda already dethroned Witcher 3 and maybe Metroid will dethrone Zelda BOTW being a game built from the ground up for Switch

You don't ignore. You lie. Just like you lied that Switch was going to flop but nintendo is back again and the single moms are rushing out to buy one for each of their 5 kids from 4 marriages and giving nintendo all their money and the swarm of future nintendo fans is growing larger. There is enough money for nintendo to buy sega and make all the future sonic games and save the game industry from collapsing due to EA's anti consumer practices.

OK I guess...but I so wanted to meet Candy Arse in person, and thrash his chubby arse at Street Fighter. Me being such a Street Fighter connoisseur and Candy Arse being an utter novice... I would have decimated him within seconds (especially if I was playing as Balrog).

But I guess I better listen to your warning, as much fun as it would be to wipe the floor with Candy Arse.

Future looks bright for mid-gen Switch upgrades for when Candy Arse inevitably decides to cave and buy one for his USF2 tournaments against boomy:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digit ... -in-theory" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Wii U = the Dreamcast

Switch = Nintendo DS reborn (underpowered compared to PSP but has lions share of japanese games)

If sega hadn't left the hardware biz they could be where nintendo are at today. This is why candy arse should never be listened to. Nintendo is far better off solo without being a third party software developer making 4K versions of Fire Emblem which to be honest is a waste of battery power. People want to play on the bus and on Jasper's private jet playing hardcore games like Monster Hunter not stuck in a tiny cubicle at a desk hunched over a keyboard like PC gamers who have to hide themselves because they are fat and ugly and creepy and bald unlike nintendo fans who are fit and healthy and use the muscles in their arms to play games which make them strong and attractive to the opposite sex. No way do tournament players play fighting games on PC using the F1 key to perform special moves. They play on console which is less hackable and more stable. Until Candy realises this, he will always be seen as a scrub by the FGC. (this is the community he fears so much because they don't like how he is trying to make SF a free-to-play online game instead of a full blown arcade title like previous SF games that have tight balancing before release.)

With all the money nintendo is making it is time they just bought Sonic the Hedgehog already. ( it is time he was in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as DLC)

WTF is creatively bankrupt Microsoft up to now?

They have prepared their own survey, asking for thoughts and opinions on their competition - the Nintendo Switch! :?

The next question was great:
9. Which of the following Nintendo Switch features is least appealing? (Select up to two)
*This question is required.
Price
Game catalog
Lack of backward compatibility
Joy-Con Controller
Portable Battery life (3-6 hours)
Internal memory (32GB)
Lack of console inventory
Technical glitches
Lack of VR support
My friends don’t own one yet

That's a much harder question to answer!

Would have to choose price and game catalog of course, since it's both a complete rip-off and has no exclusives worth playing.

Great Indie title Indivisible coming to Switch:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017- ... -to-switch" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
By Jeffrey Matulef Published 01/06/2017

Skullgirls developer Lab Zero will be bringing its upcoming action-RPG Indivisible to Nintendo Switch, both physically and digitally, in 2018.

This Switch edition will launch simultaneously with its other versions on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux.

Indivisible has had quite the development story with its Indiegogo campaign struggling to get off the ground when it asked for $1.5m while publisher 505 Games was already offering $2m. Some thought this sounded greedy, but Lab Zero's Mike Zaimont explained that many crowdfunded games cost a lot more than you'd think, and publishers tend to fund the backend. To wit: Bloodstained was asking for $500k, but costs upwards of $5m. To that end, needing $1.5m on top of the 505's funding made sense. Otherwise the publisher would pull out and Indivisible would be canned.

This message resonated with people and Indivisible met its funding goal with three days left. In fact, people were so supportive of Lab Zero, in the end, that it even shot past the $2m mark on Indiegogo with a cool $2,008,730 to its name.

Aside from Lab Zero's high end animation, Indivisible will also feature Secret of Mana composer Hiroki Kikuta handling its soundtrack.

If you'd like to give the party-based fantasy game a whirl, Lab Zero released a prototype on PC, Mac, Linux and PS4.
This is a high quality game that would be great to play on the bus. It's only a matter of time Microsoft copies the Switch with portable Xbox.

Candy Arse getting worried that PC losing all the exclusives and Steam is not as special as it used to be as other online digital stores compete with it. First Microsoft Minecraft going to Switch and being the best portable version on the market. Next is getting StarBound on Switch making the PC version obsolete because it can't be taken anywhere with you on to Jasper's Private Jet while travelling the world to fight in street fighter tournaments against the FGC in person so they can't ragequit halfway through a match like they always do when playing online.

I feel sorry for non switch fans. How are they going to afford a scorpio when that comes out if they can't even buy a Switch now? No wonder they hate mid-gen upgrades to consoles: they want to keep console platforms down so they can win digital foundry contests and making consoles underpowered makes them feel safe and secure about themselves. When games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5 and Zelda BOTW are out, the pc is getting dust all over the keyboard and console gamers are having too much fun to care about the platform debates anymore. (way to many games to play)

What the Switch needs is Terraria and Starbound to compete against Microsoft Minecraft. Hurry up and get these on the platform nintendo. Don't show any weakness. Being able to play on the go makes the console more attractive to busy people. Not everyone is a basement dwelling loser who hides from society because he is unable to communicate with real people the old way by meeting them in person and thinks online gaming is more important than LAN gaming for competitive play. lol Normal people want to play games with people they know not random dickheads online. Nintendo's plan was genius move. (no problem with lag, everyone has their OWN screen, and parents don't have to worry about kids hogging the screen while they watch tv. )

MS is probably pissed they didn't think of this before nintendo. Nintendo and MS should make a deal to get Halo 1, 2 and 3 on the Switch so people can play these games portable mode now that they are comfortable letting their game minecraft go on to a rival machine. Nintendo needs shooters, microsoft needs more platforms to sell halo, and both can mutually benefit from the agreement. (since halo as a franchise is losing appeal after no.5. I still remember when MS bought Rare candy Arse laughed at nintendo fans getting angry that certain IP were now owned by rival. Now it looks like the situation has reversed. Could we see more MS games go to nintendo platforms? Games like Kameo and Banjo Kazooie are far more suitable on a nintendo machine than a Xbox platform imo. A sequel to Conker's Bad Fur day would be a good idea for Switch release. Nobody plays platformers on the Xbox, only shooters and racing sims )
And I think MS needs to do something with Scalebound by porting it to nintendo. If the game sucks and nobody wants to play it on Xbox it might still be worth something to nintendo fans who are short on titles to play right now. Since the game is pretty much finished it would not take much effort to release.

Scorpio being the most expensive console wil have harder time getting high userbase than cheaper consoles so they got to think smart here. You want to get the money from the sale of games on all the platforms, not limit the sales of your game to one platform. Nintendo can get away with that because they have an established devoted fanbase built up over 30 years. When the next Fire Emblem game comes out on switch, people will probably buy a switch just to play the game as fans of the series. You got to look at the long game. Launch games are usually not enough to want to buy a new console for since they end up being nicer loking versions of the last gen titles. But about halfway through the console lifecycle is when the impressive stuff comes out. With less exclusives on Scorpio (PC automatically gets the xbox titles) you will have harder time justifying why people should buy the console over just playing games on pc.
Always remember that content drives sales. Nobody buys a consoles just to watch tv, or play music, or play bluray movies. It's the games that determine the sale. Those other things are just bonuses. I doubt people are buying switch for its gimmicks but because they can take the games with them. Eliminating a need to care about mobile phone games which has shit controls. (you will never see a guy playing fighting games on the mobile phone because the touchscreen sucks for that)
