Lol. Nothing an upscaler and Digital Foundry optimised settings can't resolve. I'm looking forward to getting back to CP77 with this though.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077...god damn son
I am really excited about the new improvements such as A.I being redone, which I found lacking in the base game.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077...god damn son
Same. Always new it would be they game it is - Witcher 3 was exactly the same. I'm thinking of starting a new character to play through

Still laughing at recommended high @ 1080P requiring a processor that was released less than 6 months ago

Given the good 2.0 reviews I'll probably end up (finally) playing this before I go back to Starfield

Re: Cyberpunk 2077...god damn son
Lol flip it's true.
So CDPR recommend a clean install and fresh playthrough with new character/save for 2.0 and Phantom Liberty. I learned this after updating to 2.0 and encountering a number of crashes/'flatlines' when running benchmarks and loading old saves. I don't have any mods installed btw. I played a couple of hours recently on 1.63 and it was fine so it was def the update that clobbered my existing saves/install. Have backed up my old saves and wiped CP from my system for a fresh start.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077...god damn son
I started a completely new playthrough but with the same life path (Corpo and Streetkid doesn't interest me). It's like a completely new game. The graphics are truly next gen, just wandering around the city in my new car thinking back to Shenmue where it all started for open world games. The world is dense as well, I picked up two missions I completely missed in my first play through, namely Heroes (the Jackie Funeral sequence) and the dildo sword from Meredith - in my first run through I killed her. Going to go through the main game again before starting on the DLC. Despite taking the time to get here, had every confidence CD would deliver.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077...god damn son
Finished the base game pretty much at launch (on PC) and haven't gone back to it.
Planning on a brand new PC within the next year or so (in time for Windows 10 support to end. My PC turns 10 next year so is definitely starting to struggle. Not even going to try something like Alan Wake 2 on it), keen for a replay then with the expansion and everything cranked up to its highest settings.

Cyberpunk 2077...god damn son
I’m so jealous of those playing it with path tracing and mods. I’ve always said the first game I buy will be this one, heck, it’s probably the reason I will update! I have it on PS5 but it’s in another league on PC.

That's a quality effort! Going to give it a viking funeral?Ambrose Burnside wrote: ↑02 Feb 2024 04:07 pmMy PC turns 10 next year so is definitely starting to struggle.

Was a beast when I got it, and the only upgrades I've made to it since I got it were two extra hard drives, a second 2TB HDD to go with the one it came with, and an NVMe drive (for Cyberpunk actually!) So it now has four hard drives in total cos it also has a 120GB SSD for Windows.
I know I'm going to cry when I start researching and realise how much I'll have to spend for an equivalent beast in 2024/25

Ohhhhhh you are fucked. This is why I go with the "PC of Theseus" approach - I just upgrade one or two components at a time. I'm not looking forward to having to move up from my 5950X on a couple of years!

Yes, well that's the smart way of doing thingsunfnknblvbl wrote: ↑02 Feb 2024 08:32 pm Ohhhhhh you are fucked. This is why I go with the "PC of Theseus" approach - I just upgrade one or two components at a time. I'm not looking forward to having to move up from my 5950X on a couple of years!
My problem is that it just kept running whatever I threw at it for so many years I just didn't bother upgrading. It wasn't until Windows 11 came out and I looked at upgrading to it I realised I was in a bit of a bind. My processor, despite being more than powerful enough, isn't supported. So that means a new processor. Which means a new motherboard. No point upgrading them if you're not upgrading the graphics card too. And if I'm doing that I'll have to upgrade to a 4k monitor ... It was about then I said fuck it I'll wait until Windows 10 is no longer supported (2025) and upgrade to a whole new beast Windows 12 might be thing by then too.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077...god damn son
I bought Liberty City yonks ago but have yet to play. I've backed up my old V and intend to start a new game. My PC was recently fully upgraded with AMD parts and with AMD frame gen having just released I'm ripe to go.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077...god damn son
Now I'm basically done with BG3 I'll probably try this. Can't do any fancy RT stuff on my 6700XT at 1440p but should run pretty well without it. Still unsure if frame gen is going to help because the image quality always seems to suffer.
