Re: Lego City Undercover - almost enough to make me want a W
Looking good. I think the lego games are coming out a bit quickly though.
We had Batman Lego
LOTR Lego
Lego GTA
Lego Marvel heroes
etc
How do you guys keep up? The gap between releases is getting smaller.
And why weren't you going to buy wii u for bayonetta 2 and other great games like the next 3d mario, pikmin and the zelda games?
Something wrong with you? Do you hate good games?

I only get the ones I'm interested in. Skipped Batman/Mavel/LOTR, just got Star Wars & Harry Potter.
It's similar to their toy strategy, they have a bunch of ranges that appeal to different people.

What's out first- gta5 or this?
Only one can get the love it truly deserves. Both seem to need a lot of love. Like having two children and claiming you love them equally.

Just wait for the superior 360/PS3 versions later with added extras.

How can it be superior when it is on 360 and ps3?
Wii U is next gen.
7 year old tech < 2012 tech machine with Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Bayonetta, Rayman 2 etc on it.

Lego City is developed in partnership with Nintendo exclusively for Wii U and 3DS.

Re: Lego City Undercover - almost enough to make me want a W
And the open world is fucking massive for this game!

LEGO City Undercover: 'It will take 10 minutes to drive a loop of the city'
The city in LEGO City Undercover is so big it would take ten minutes just to drive around the edge of it. That's the word from executive producer Loz Doyle who told ONM more about the forthcoming Wii U game for a special feature which appears in ONM 91.
LEGO City Undercover takes place in a GTA-style open world and puts you in the shoes of undercover cop Chase McCain who has to drive around the city in a bid to put a stop to Rex Fury's crime wave. You have to don many disguises to find out how Rex escaped from Albatross Island prison before finding him and making the city a peaceful place again.
As Doyle told ONM, exploring this city will take some time. "It would take 10 minutes just to drive a loop of the city. That doesn't even include exploring all the side roads and other regions. Not only is there the ground level city to explore but you can also get up on the rooftops where there is a whole load of additional gameplay."
The City itself is a mixture of New York and San Francisco, complete with its own versions of Times Square, the Statue Of Liberty, The Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz (Albatross Island).

What about that other rumoured open world game for Wii U made entirely from playdough?. Wii U owners are spoilt for choice.
Here's some multiplayer action.

That last post by Jasper isn't a great selling point. I think it took longer to drive a circuit of San Andreas 6 or 7 years ago. Thing is, Rockstar will probably put in an amusement park in GTA5 mimicking Lego and the park will probably be roughly the same size as that Nintendo Lego game. With more activities.

I want to see saints row 4 on wii u with a dildo boomerang weapon and mario kart vehicles for use in races.
Nintendo make it happen. GTA 5 could be a letdown like 4. Rockstar were cool in the ps2 days. I think they are overhyped now, much like bethesda who can't even make 4 legged dragons.

Rockstar redeemed themselves with the Super Cowboy Madness Hour. Get with the times. GTA5 will be a masterpiece.

10 mins to drive around the Lego city? That's impressive, a whole 50 mins quicker than driving around the island in TDU. Must be fast Lego cars.

Does anyone know if we are getting a preorder bonus in Australia? I keep holding off in case they announce something.

No word on a pre-order bonus yet, but as you can see from the unusual packaging, Lego City Undercover is packed in with a figurine. It's a PAL box also, so I think it's a certainty it will be available here too.
And I may as well post here also, new Lego City Undercover trailer -

That's cute.
(for the lazy, it takes 8 minutes to fly from one side of the map to the other in the fastest jet).

Re: Lego City Undercover - almost enough to make me want a W
10 minutes to drive around the edge had Jasper pretty excited. Reading that first impression, it takes "that long" because nothing goes very fast.
I'm trying to compare it to another open world game and it sounds like a Lego version of driving around the golf course in San Andreas or Vice City in a golf cart. That took about ten minutes.

Yeah but Lego is smaller. I've never built a Lego city that takes 10 minutes to drive around. That's a lot of Lego.
