Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
From gaf.
If you visit motherbase on the birthdate of your avatar you set in the beginning, you get a unique cutscene.
If your GMP goes too far in the red, you get a unique cutscene.
There's something very worthwhile but easy to miss if you don't explore a blue door on the third floor of motherbase's medical section.
You can fast travel between the little orange supply box platforms on motherbase by standing on them while in a cardboard box.
You can find those orange platforms and do the same on the field, if you collect the inventory slips right next to them.
You can change the pattern on your cardboard box by selecting it and pressing square.
You can literally sneak up to the back of a tank and fulton it no fuss no muss.
What a game.

Only 8% in and it has already surpassed every MGS in length.

Hehe, use the waterpustol and shoot sleeping soldiers in the crotch and they wake up thinking they've wet their pants.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
I've got the water pistol but haven't used it yet. I'm doing some more Side Ops today so will have a go with it!
I went to the blue door on the Medical platform last night, very much worth the trip...

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
The waterpustol is a good covert weapon, I'd never even thought about it till I read that thread I linked above.
Also...
Doing lot of headshots = helmets
Throwing lots of gas grenades = gasmasks
Doing a lot of missions at night = night vision
Sniping a lot from long distances = binoculars
Using the shotgun a lot = heavily armoured
Shooting lots of soldiers in the groin = kekeke (I'll let you suss that one out!)
This is what happens when you tranq a soldier then surround him with decoys.
Fucken GOTG this is!

Yep the game is really something special. Seems no one else on Games Ranch is playing it.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Just slow down on buying games Cloud. I've only bought three this year, Project Cars and MGSV (not sure if Dirt counts but we'll add that in). I just can't be arsed with so many new games at once any more and just appreciate what I have till its time for another. Feels good going from spending $1000+ per year on dozens of games to less than $300.
Certainly seems that way, but their loss.Candy Arse wrote:Yep the game is really something special. Seems no one else on Games Ranch is playing it.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
The best thing you can do is get straight back into it the moment you walk in the door. You've cut the cord, your work is done. I'm sure that's the best advice.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
I don't want to know how many missions in that is but I've just done either 13 or 14. The one you need to follow the interpreter to find the prisoner.

I am the boss. If you're not the boss then you're playing it wrong.flipswitch wrote:Has anyone been in a boss fight yet?
