You can press square (X on 360 controller?)when in reflex mode to cycle through your weapons. I wish I knew that before.

I thought the game was designed to be played with it on?

Maybe they should include a rewind feature ;).

Retail PC version comes with only 1 disc.
Source
The total game is a not inconsiderable 28GB of data, not counting the expected Day One Patch. But the retail PC version comes with only a single disc. No, it's not some super-magic disc, but rather a very empty one - it just contains an 8MB Steam install file.
So, even if you bought the game at retail hoping to get around the day one download - tough. You've got the download the game.
 Could've atleast chucked some wallpapers on there or something :o

How awesome is mission 12! Good old traditional espionage action.

Anyone choose their time of day to start a mission? I select asap as it almost feels like cheating purposely choosing night time to do the missions since its so much easier.

It gets harder but once you've got Quiet it gets really easy but also more room for crazy shit. I got my first Forward Operating Base last night.

It's at the top of the GOTY discussion with Witcher 3 and probably Fallout 4 once it actually comes out.

The core gameplay loop is beyond addictive and satisfying, and on top of that the attention to detail is staggering. So many little things you can experiment with...and they'll work.

Finally finished mission 12, did not see that end evasion coming but thankfully I did it first time as I have spent too many attempts just trying to infiltrate the base. Fantastic level though.

I need to start listening to the tapes, heard some good things about the but with 60+ to listen to....

You gotta listen to the tapes. Just listen to them as you're going through a mission...

I thought about that but worried the enemies will hear them.

No because you can control that with the iDroid. You have to manually select to have whatever tape you play come from the speaker, otherwise it defaults to the headphones for Boss only.

The tapes you get along the way are really good. Without giving too much away last night I came across my first reference to the first MGS game...a big one...

You'll also pick up tapes in the native language where a guy says "Enemy eliminated", play it with the loudspeaker while they're looking for you and they'll call off the search.

It's literally the work of a mad genius.

Was going to do a Side Ops tonite but decided to do the next mission, needless to say I don't have enough time for that tonite bit I immediately felt that the second location seems better than Afghanistan. Really looking forward to sinking some time into that.

Candy do you favour any of the sneaking suits? I've just been using a couple of the stripe ones and now the woodland one. I'd imagine lestat uses one of the sneaking suits to pad his footsteps since he uses keys to move.

It depends on what I'm doing. For most Side Ops now I just go in there in a woodland one with the scarf (looks awesome) and tranq snipe everyone with Quiet's help.

For the story missions I use the SV Sneaking Suit that I've upgraded since I need to do some interrogating and want to make sure no one hears me coming. It's not a cloak of invisibility since being dumb will get you shot up, but with the other outfits they see you from greater range and can hear you coming even when you crouch.

Got my first E rank which was on mission 13, the mission really tests your stealth skills and patience, obviously I showed none this level. I guess this will be happening a lot more as missions become more technical especially as you learn where the actual objectives are.
