I would have bought this on wii u. I can't believe it is even coming to pc where it will most likely get pirated by a huge number of people who know it will run way better and get mods. The idiots at rockstar were able to release a gta on nds but not release this on wii u where you can play it in the palm of your hands while the family watches tv? What arseholes..
Even if the wii u sells like shit, this game coming to it might change people's minds and be enough reason to buy the wii u while it is selling like shit for cheap. Not only would it look better on wii u, but it would have better features and the online shit would probably work better. Not to mention motion sensing fine aim and other things for long distance sniper fights on the rooftops of buildings.

Hopefully reviewers will take this into account and deduct points from the scores of the ps3 and xbox version, given that pc will be better and wii u version could have offered some fresh control refinements. (no need to pause action to view maps etc)
Most likely it will get automatic 10 instead of 8s or 9s. Huge campaign to hype it. Ridiculous that it isn't even being ported to next gen either and the framerate will hold back the sales on current gen a bit for those who are waiting until the game sells cheap before dipping on current gen version.

Rockstar are making more money NOT releasing it on the Wii U. Dead platform.

Rockstar already mentioned that one of the reasons it's nit coming to the Wii U is the 8gb mandatory install for both consoles. The 360 gets an install disc...

No hdd installing or caching has seen performance issues in games. Take a look at Splinter Cell. Yes, the Wii U version looks better but it doesn't perform as well (frame rate, load times) due to the hd textures not getting installed to the hdd like the other formats. I'm sure LCU would have benefitted from caching or a mandatory install. I love the crap out of that game but the load times are crazy.

Do I get this game on release day for $65, with the ability to trade it in later if need be, or buy it from the UK a week or two later for $50 with potential trade in issues? Decisions decisions. I think the former.

Buy from ebgames preowned to piss off cockstar for not making this a launch ps4 game with smoother framerates that come for free.

Still haven't pre ordered. Probably just stop in the shops on the way home. There is about 8 to choose from so I doubt I will miss out.

I expect Big W or somewhere to have some wicked price listed in the next week.

Don't forget y'all, all GTAV games should come with the dlc code for the Blimp (Read: Hindenberg wannabe). On top of the blimp will be an ideal meeting place for knife fights.

I'm done pre-ordering games. Case-in-point: Splinter Cell was $79 at JB on launch day. Went in today, $65. WTF.

The only reason to pre-order is if you are desperate for the exclusive items. Chances are they're available as DLC anyway and the money you save not pre-ordering would be more than the DLC costs anyway.

Tomby, Big W have it listed for $94 incl dload code for blimp on their website. Hopefully that's not the price on the catalogue since they're usually the cheapest.

It was $74@my local JB and $79 for the SE that came with the watch, dlc codes and two maps. Fuck I wished I paid the extra $5 now just for that Billionaires Yacht map.

That reminds me I noticed games no longer have instruction manuals anymore. Will this game have printed manuals?
I get angry when they get to save money but at the expense of good presention and by not giving us cheaper price. It would be different if manuals were on the damn software like with retail Vita games. But often they tell you to go to a seperate website to download the pdf which is annoying. You want to save trees? Fine. But put the instruction book on the disc without needing internet access you stupid shits.

Cheaper price? Games cost 10x more to make today than 10yrs ago and the games are the same price if not cheaper. In fact if you factor in inflation games a a fuckton cheaper than they used to be. Look back at the cost of cartridge games for your Snezs and MDs and Nitnedno 64.

Seconding what t0mby said. Paid $130 for SSFII on the Megadrive, and typically $100 for anything I wanted near release. Nowdays they are stupidly huge projects in comparison, delivering a buttload more content, and we pay less. Can't really complain.

Yeah I remember that being $200 here too... I really wanted to get it, but just too much. That was actually what made me pick SSFII.
Picked VR up much later for $10. Totally loved it on the MD too. Could never be arsed with the Saturn loading times.

So yeah, that GTAV...

Here's a hot tip for those that think a game is too expensive - you don't have to buy it.

I remember paying $150 (or my Mum did) for a copy of Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Far too much but it was still a fantastic game. I just get tired of buying a game close to launch and then watching the price plummet only a week later :/

That said, like MW3, I think it will be a long time before GTA5 drops in price so I may just bite the bullet.

The reason games of the past cost so much is due to less people buying games and they had to run on shitty technology making it harder to get them to be attractive enough for large masses of people to want to pay the high price to play them at the risk they'd suck and youd be stuck with a piece of shit. This is what happens when you let casual gamer noob retards comment on gaming back in the days :p

A game of today has vastly more memory to exploit, lot more people who are desperate to work for virtually nothing, and more people to sell games to for the company to profit off of.

Some of the best games are the cheaper ones not the expensive to make stuff. State of Decay vs Last of Us. Minecraft VS Diablo 3. Rayman Legends vs Bioshock Infinite. Please enough with the bullshit. Game companies are dying off because the products are bloated and full of junk.

Look if you don't want to print the damn things, at least have the manual in the game itself.

I don't. I just bargain the shops down, and borrow the ones that are not worth keeping off mates. But this gives them more excuses to raise costs when shit titles are made tbat nobody wants to pay full price for. This is why the industry will collapse one day when they don't listen to valid criticisms by gamers who are often worried that games may be getting too shallow but which look polished and nice.

Sure making your game have production value is important too, but it is not as important when the next years game comes out with technologically more advanced features. The meat of a games value is in the fun and depth of the gameplay. This will NEVER change. It is a constant that is the real determining factor in whether you stick with a game long enough to not want to trade it in to ebgames. lol

One remedy of dealing with the second hand market problem is companies make the online modes of games good enough to prevent you from getting rid of it so that even if the game stinks, you play it still for social reasons. But for those of us who play games mostly offline this isn't enough of a factor to make us pay full price for a crap game still. So we tend to wait until the price goes down first. You have us discerning gamers to thank for having a strong-enough will power to resist wasting money on hyped games at release, for ensuring you don't have to live back in the days of the snes when a lot of shit games cost a fortune and you had little option but to cave in to the high cost.
