They've spent time and it shows. It's not the complete San Andreas map but it looks to be everything I've ever wanted in a video game in my whole life. If you didn't really play San Andreas you couldn't know what was missing from GTA4. At least my version allows backstreet sex in a car with various viewpoints and levels of gratification on offer.

Liberty City was always a limited sandpit. That didn't really change with GTA4. Multiplayer should have kept it going for a lot longer than it did too. Again, I think the limitations of the actual city and things to do in it made people lose interest.

But replace that with San Andreas and lots of things to do there and I can't see how any gamer on earth will ever need another video game. It could potentially be that good that I lose interest in Xbone at launch and pick it up after I'm good and done in the land I love so much.

But that's only if the game is as good as it should be.

Good, I only played San Andreas briefly. The popup was shocking. Might have to take a couple of days off when this gets released.

Still haven't decided on EB or JB with free Blimp code.

http://www.kotaku.com.au/2013/08/gta-v-nabs-r18-rating/
A classification for Grand Theft Auto V appeared on the Classification Board’s website yesterday, and it appears the game will be available for sale in Australia under an R18+ rating.

The rating takes into account what the Board deems a “Strong Impact” across most themes, and “High Impact” drug use. The main point of difference between this and, say, Saints Row IV, is that it’s unlikely GTA V will have any rewards or beneficial effects for said drug use.

Half the reason I came to Aussie was to experience the banning of a GTA game. Disappointed.

Looks good but that explained little of how the multiplayer actually works. It doesn't even mention how many players can be expected to share a game.

Max Payne 3 + Open world = success

Here's hoping the PC version is as good as the MP3 port

Characters from GTA V will appear in GTA Online
GTA Online will not always be limited to Los Santos; additional locations are in the works
You can do anything in GTA Online that you can do in GTA V, like the following: heists, co-op missions, gang attacks, death matches, impromptu deathmatch, races, tennis, golf, base jumping, shooting range, ambient events (hold ups of stores, armored van robberies, crate drops, import/export missions involving car theft, bounties that you can set on other players and people can claim), betting
If you are killed while holding money you will lose a large portion of it, and others can steal it. Use banks to keep money safe
An in-game smartphone can call your friends whether they are in GTA Online or GTA V. You can also use this to set waypoints for your friends. While using the phone, your avatar moves their lips with yours.
While you are driving, you can choose to grant someone else permission over the radio
In-game AI will respond to how aggressive you are on your mic (as in, if you're shouting during a robbery, the AI will react and speed up/become more frightened)
Whoever sets up a heist decides who gets what cut of the final money when that money is obtained
Garages range from two car ports to 10 car ports
Cars can have retractable roofs controlled by the player through the Interaction menu
Missions can be accessed by physical markers or through a quickmatch sort of menu
User-made missions can be favorited and rated
You can assign other players certain roles in missions based on the particular abilities they have leveled up
You can share cash, weapons and ammunition with other players
If a another player or friend feels they got stiffed in the amount of cash shared they can hire a hitman to take you out
There are stealth kills. The game tracks the amount of noise your character is making, and the AI will respond accordingly
You can steal physical items. During the demo, a mission was done in which a bike warehouse was robbed. The bikes had to be transported out in a large truck
"RP" are the points you get to level up your character
You can use physical gestures, such as flipping the bird via the Interaction menu. The example given was a player asked another player for a ride who agreed and called him over, but when the player got to the car he got flipped off and the other player drove off.
If you're without a ride you can call Taxis, a friend or an "employee to come out and give you a ride or bring a car
All of your info/communications in the game appear in the "Feed." Rockstar mentioned this as a sort of Twitter for GTA Online
You can purchase insurance for your car. By insuring your vehicle, if it gets destroyed or stolen, you can have it replaced by paying a small premium
Police helicopters have cameras mounted to the front of them. In real time, you can watch on live TV (on the news channel in your apartment) players with a high wanted level being chased by the police. There are additional channels with programs such as a crime noir show
Heists can have up to 20 different components. A heist is mentioned where a Titan (largest aircraft) is guarded by "Maryweather" (sp?). The Titan is indeed a flyable aircraft
There is a heli-pad on the roof of (at least) the largest AmmuNation and the store can also be accessed from there
Off the west coast of Los Santos, there is an another island with lots of buildings. This has not been seen before, but the folks at CVG saw it from afar
There is a "passive" mode or "Haven" where you cannot shoot or be shot
You can use the Interaction menu to wear a mask during hold ups so that when you get away taking off the mask lowers your wanted level
For a brief time when you're wanted you can see on the radar the cop's vision cone, ala MGS/Driver, or the Detection Zone.

Bzzt. Wrong. Multiplayer GTA is horribly under-rated.
For people who bothered to give GTA4's multi a chance, it was awesome, and in my top10 multi experiences for this ending gen.
GTA Race mode was excellent.
And GTA5 multi looks amazing.

I think I'd rather just buy GTA online as a stand alone title. I just need something different from cover shooting... Sleeping Dogs was great until they gave you a gun...

Saints row is still superior. Customising your character and being able to change your appearance means you are playing an animal crossing like hybrid with a gang theme, which makes it infinitely more replayable. Rockstar are going to be left behind once you can travel to various galaxies in future saints row games and modify your body with cyborg parts to probe people's minds by sticking wires into their heads to read thier thoughts and memories and they add a whole combat system for spaceships that rivals freespace.
Might buy this when it hits bargain bin in case it is not fun. (this game should have been on wii u as an exclusive. Rokstar are fucking idiots for forgetting that it is a more powerful system and that which can make their game look and play better. They are scared that their game will look like shit alongside lego city lol And not even announcing pc version for ages is stupid. The console graphics are ugly you fools.)

Just a heads up, Rockstar have confirmed that all preorders should come with a Blimp code regardless of where you purchase it from.

4 weeks bitches. My body (and blu ray) is ready.

Reason I won't buy it on pc: PC sucks.
Reason why ?
rage port sucked:
just because pc is more powerful doesn't garuantee pc is goin to be good. Saints Row 2 port sucked on pc for instance and that was the best game in the series.

consoles like 360 and ps3 are underpowered. So that option sucks too. They are only releasing them for reasons that have more to do with userbase reasons, not because of quality reasons.

the only real machine to play gta v on is the wii u and most who are not fanboys know it.

Only poor people are intrested in playing on 360 and ps3. It is much like people getting excited about the phone game port of gta3.

We would actually be playing this on xbox one and ps4 if this gen did not drag out so long. *sigh* (would have been a good launch game)
