I seriously hope it's worth all the time you've poured into it. You deserve a shit-tonne of money for such a great job.

Now, about this Assault Android Cactics you (or your brother, I can't remember) mentioned as the sequel to me on Twitter the other day. It may have been a joke, but I can totally see how that would work! I'd buy into Early Access for that too, if it were real! =D

I actually pitched a Shining Force sequel while still working at Sega, would love to make that game.

Probably wouldn't set it in the world of Cactus but we do have ideas for a tactics game in that world haha, the possibilities are quite large.

Not sure I'll ever make another game like Cactus though, it's simply too hard to get attention without a central concept/gimmick that acts as a shining light, you can only really tell how good (or bad) Cactus is by playing it.

Given how amazing AAC is, I would have zero hesitations in buying into early access for you guys again. Doubly so if it were a Shining Force-alike game. I can see how it would be a significantly different challenge though.

I would buy the deluxe edition of a new Shining Force game. But not a Legendary.

Pfft. Legendary Ultra Deluxe Edition EX+ for me.

...in all seriousness, I can really see how it would work in the AAC world. Like, down to the fine details and everything. I think it's a perfect fit!

You guys did a really great job with this - very polished and fun (though I can only play it in short bursts or it overwhelms my poor old brain). It's nice to see how it progressed since that first early access release too. I hope you're getting appropriately rewarded for your efforts.

I actually think AAC sets the benchmark for this kind of game. Not necessarily because it's the best, but because it's so engrossing. You're getting loads of people saying "I don't like these kinds of games, but I love this" (myself included). That, combined with the fact that it's actually really quite excellent is what sets the bar.

The Giant Bomb quicklook was awesome, Vinny and Austin seemed to really get in to it and their Infinity Drive run was radical :D

Plus they found our 'you are dead' song because they were idling on the fail screen, couldn't have asked for a better video haha.

So, I completely lost track of this game and didn't know it had been released - wow, what a fun game. Reminds me big time of Smash TV. Already got two friends to buy it through the sale to play with. All up, great effort putting it together Sonic.

This game seems like a natural fit for the PS4/Vita. Hopefully it makes its way on to at least one of the consoles. Game lends itself to couch gaming.

Assault Android Cactus is one of the options for Vote To Play on PS+. Sadly it's trailing behind the other two games at the moment (it was always going to be tough going up against a game called Broforce) but I thought it was worth spreading the word. Get your votes in by the 22nd.

Even if it doesn't win people with PS+ now know about it. Sure it would be great to win but publicity is publicity and people will seek it out to see what it's all about.

Definitely good to get the exposure, while digging for that link I saw at least one comment section where Cactus fans were mobilising a push for votes. Broforce just seems it would be the default choice if you hadn't heard of any of them and weren't inclined to do a bit of research first- not to take anything away from it.

I'm not really interested in any of them tbh. One reminds me of that free Doritos game on xbl, one is a 4 player game and the other..... well

It's really great. Twin stick shooting with Dreamcast aesthetics.

The way the blurb is written on the Sony website it seems like the games focus is on 4 player and since I rarely play online anymore that doesn't sound appealing. Oh well, if it's the free game I guess I will see for myself then.
