More importantly, how long until it's free on PS+?

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
It's getting close but it's been a lot tougher than we would have liked to finish things/do marketing etc, based on how things are going I'm hopeful the PS4 release won't be far behind PC.
I don't know the logistics of the PS+ deals but since we're making a fairly niche game it's actually something I'd consider... Getting it in the hands of that huge player base would be rad. For now the focus is just on making a good game and hoping people buy it.
The whole 'looks like a PS+ freebie' mentality is troubling in some ways because you can really devalue small games, but I think there are games where it makes sense.

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
I heard an interview with the Thomas Was Alone guy where he talked about being free on PS+, he couldn't talk about specifics but he was pretty pleased with what it did for the game.

Loving Shiitake and the new updates to the levels cranked out some more 4p last night. The third boss was pretty tough but exhilarating to take down together

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
Sony and MS are in a race to the bottom, with both offering free rentals usually of indie titles I refuse to buy small games anymore, because I expect to see them for free eventually.Sonic Jam wrote: The whole 'looks like a PS+ freebie' mentality is troubling in some ways because you can really devalue small games, but I think there are games where it makes sense.
Also with free to play games becoming a much bigger focus, steam sales in general games are being devalued and consumer expectations are matching.
Overall I'm not sure if this is a good thing, but I have seen that whales are making F2P companies a lot of cash, It's ironic how we've regressed back to arcade style gaming as a service.

In case anybody here doesn't already have this game, it comes out on the 23rd of this month for Steam. Next year for consoles that aren't the 'bone. Never, for Android, apparently.

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
I'm pretty happy with 8.8 + editors choice, especially after getting a few 7's from people who didn't really seem to enjoy this type of game
We've also had some outstanding reviews from smaller outlets, the EIC of games.on.net simply made a post telling people to buy it and Midnight Resistance gave us 11/10 A few others are in the 9.5-10 range as well. Plus we're still at 98% positive on Steam
I'm ecstatic that there are people out there who think what we made is great, I don't think the market on Steam/PC is particularly receptive to this kind of game (or at least we need a much bigger press/reviews push than we got to have a chance at greater success there) but there's a niche of people who are way in to it.
