Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
Just want to say it's great you released a demo (and on steam too!).
There's so many indie games i'd probobly enjoy & buy but I want to try them first (and don't like pirating non disc based stuff), but no demo and thus rarely a purchase.
Ofcourse, didn't need a demo for this. Was always an instabuy

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
Purchased it last night... hope you feel special that you totally popped my Steam cherry.
Only had a quick go and it will definitely need the xbox controller.. tried it on the keyboard and yeah.. I ain't a keyboard game player.
I take it that it's relatively easy to get the controller working for the laptop?

Wired yes just plug and play but with wireless you will need a receiver.

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
Getting a wireless adapter should be a priority for any 360 owner that also plays PC games, IMO.
...although, I suppose that'll be a bit pointless in a few months, given that the 'bone controller will work over USB when they can be bothered adding Windows support.

Downloaded the demo tonite since I recently got an (old) gaming laptop and have since installed Steam. Now I just need a program to use my DS3 pad.

Get a 360 bro. They're cheap as chups.
Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
Just totally realised they're all named after plants/plant products. I am slow. What's next, Eggplant with some kind of longarm and cluster bombs?

Aubergine is one of the planned characters and she had cluster grenades for a long time Though I think we abandoned that (fully functional in game) weapon in favour of giving Peanut a Flak Cannon ala unreal tournament. Lots of changing elements though.

Purchased...installationing now. I'll see if my laptop can run it tomorrow.
Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
Aubergine is actually out there in one of the videos; I was surprised to "find" another character (but she's not in motion). Peanut, cute name, though I feel like I just read a spoiler.
On the subject of changing elements, I have noticed consciously that every single audio difference I've heard in preview videos, the Steam release clearly contains the best choices. The music, and especially the changed battery commenting. So much better having her say "Battery over here", imo.

Speaking of, is there a decent one out there? The only one I've found is awful and temperamental at best..t0mby wrote:Downloaded the demo tonite since I recently got an (old) gaming laptop and have since installed Steam. Now I just need a program to use my DS3 pad.

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
Long time since I’ve used Steam (I’m on a Mac) but I got a wired Xbox controller out and bought this. I’m a softcock gamer these days but so far this is great fun (only finished first boss dude). I sometimes get a bit confused between what’s living and dead and good for me and bad, but I do that in real life anyway so that’s okay. Good stuff!

I refuse to play it again until I get a proper controller happening.

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
I am curious about one thing - how well is it selling?

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
The alpha is selling OK, but we'll need a pretty huge upswing in sales when the full game launches or it won't be good. Btw I have to be careful of what I say here now as I've had a few people use quotes from this forum actually Weird!

Use Freemasons to bag out MS.

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
Well for what it's worth I haven't bought the alpha but plan to pick it up on WiiU and PS4. Everyone I show footage to wants to play it, I think as long as the word gets out there you'll do well.

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
New update live, 6th character unlocks when you beat Vespula, re-balanced a lot of stuff, performance improvements, a new enemy type an d two new levels in world 5
Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
Oh fuck yeah, can't wait to get home and update! Will have some friends over again for some more 4p madness.

Re: Assault Android Cactus Steam Early Access & Demo release
I did a bit of mechanics re-balancing that should make 4p more fun, battery wise (and spawns on a few levels).
Keen to hear what people think of the new character, and in particular the new level 'Control' which I suspect is a bit hard atm (but it is world 5... And lacking final spawns/enemy types).

Is this game doable on kbam? I'll pick it up tonight regardless.
