Test Drive multiplayer Thur Nov 2 @ 8.30pm EST
OK, I think it’s about time to put the multiplayer in this game to the test so I've set a date and time. Apparently you can have up to 16 people in a race and seeing as the gamer-card leader-board thing shows that only 16 Games Ranchers own TDU, no-one needs to miss out. It’ll probably start with a few ordinary races, and if inclination allows and we can all wangle ourselves into the same server instance then we can have a free-for-all point-to-point race from one side of the island to the other. I haven’t tested it but I’d imagine it’d only take 20 to 25 minutes, after several hours of frustration to meet up in a server instance.
Meet at the Rancho Relaxo clubhouse at 8.30 pm EST. Please post here if you can or can’t turn up so we can work through our personal disappointment at a poor turnout beforehand. If you aren’t a member then you’ll need to add a current member to your friends list and then join up at any clubhouse on the map. In previous multiplayer outings, the Skyline and Ferrari 430 seemed like popular cars, so try to bring a tuned version of both of those so we can have the occasional fair race. Faster cars are left to personal preference.

I have a shabby garage.. my fastest car is a Corvette.. (Class B I think..) though it is untuned.. I haven't had any time to play this game of late, and I just bought a bigger house to accomodate more cars, so I am lacking in the funds! I will only be able to joing in closer to 10PM EST on Thursday night, if everyone is still going at that stage..

Ultimately everyone will be able to enter the races no matter what cars they have, it's just that the F430 and Skyline are cheap and lots of people seem to already have them in their collection. There's a pretty big disparity between some cars in the same class in TDU, so it's nice to have identical car races occasionally. In other words, it would be nice if everyone could buy those two cars beforehand, but still turn up no matter what.
Rumour has it I may already have the Ferrari, although I am not yet able to tune it, as the Euro Tuning place is locked to me.
The Skyline shouldn't be that expensive to pick up.
The cross-island race should be sweet, as there is plenty of places that I haven't been. If everyone comes in their Ferrari's we could find somewhere noice to take a happy snap. Awww..

So... try all game downloads? It's called the Launch Pack.pilonv1 wrote:Where is the download? It doesn't show up under new content
F430. In previous multiplayer bouts we've spent most of our time in the Skylines. Like PGR3, slower cars are more fun in multi.GreyWizzard wrote:which model ferrari? I prefer my nismo to the skyline but that is cool.
My goal with stipulating those two cars wasn't to cause hassles for you guys in obtaining them. You're free to choose whatever car you want for each race, but I think a close race is a fun race and the easiest way to have a close race is to have identical cars. TDU doesn't punish argy-bargy like PGR3 does - in fact it's extremely difficult to bash someone off their line, so close races are possible. If you're pulling away from the pack or lagging behind due to your car choice then you're really only harming your own fun IMO.
