Did you ever play rogue or nethack? It is kind of like that, in the way that worlds and items are randomly generated.
The game uses an isometric view.
You walk around, pick up presents, avoid earthlings, and try to find the 10 pieces of your spaceship to get home.
The 2 player mode is fantastic, when you are together you share a single screen, walk away from each other and it becomes split screen. Great implementation.
I think it is the random level and present generation that makes it such a great game. You just never know what you are going to get. You might be lucky and have each bit of the ship one level after another or you might get levels and levels between presents and end up spending hours on the game.

As insanely awesome as Gunstar Heroes is (And even better emulatinng the US verison instead of our gimped VC version) there's no denying Guardian Heroes is the best console game ever.

Re: Thread, I really wish we were getting something worth the money they charge, release some HARD TO FIND GAMES ffs! Or at the very least give us easy to find games that never came out in our region.
It can't be that hard to scan a manual and unzip a ROM.

shit, corey
not enhancing the games at all "to be true to the game" and then having THOSE piece-of-shit "manuals" reeks of lazyness
fuck off nintendo
(for the record, i bought sonic and gunstar heroes, and think i'm going to get smb and dkc at some point)

On the Sega front Streets of Rage, Shinobi and anything non-Sonic since I have them all.
For SNES, hopefully a few of the Square RPGs so I can see what the fuss was about, also SMW or Yoshis Island.
N64 games I expect all the Mario games and Starfox, but I hope there's a chance to see Goldeneye and a few of the rarer titles like Paper Mario 64.
