Today was an absolute joke, 1 game, a game that was released in the US as a Xmas treat.

GO NINTENDO AU.

:D

What else have you bought on VC? I've bought SM64 and DK so far. I'm enjoying SM64 more than when it was first released. I'm really looking forward to NES Punchout.

I've never played TJ&E. Could you tell me a bit about it?

Did you ever play rogue or nethack? It is kind of like that, in the way that worlds and items are randomly generated.

The game uses an isometric view.

You walk around, pick up presents, avoid earthlings, and try to find the 10 pieces of your spaceship to get home.

The 2 player mode is fantastic, when you are together you share a single screen, walk away from each other and it becomes split screen. Great implementation.

I think it is the random level and present generation that makes it such a great game. You just never know what you are going to get. You might be lucky and have each bit of the ship one level after another or you might get levels and levels between presents and end up spending hours on the game.

The presents were awesome. I loved TJ&E, used to rent it quite a bit back in the day and was one of the few games I rented multiple times.

I've bought Bonk's Adventure, Bomberman and SMB.

So fucking overpriced, but the quality's decent at least.

This is a poor showing but not as bad as the current XBLA offerings. Where are the new titles that can hold interest for more than ten minute... in fact, where are the new titles fullstop?

As insanely awesome as Gunstar Heroes is (And even better emulatinng the US verison instead of our gimped VC version) there's no denying Guardian Heroes is the best console game ever.

I will argue this point to the death any place any time Shaneus! With overuse of
small quotes
, bolds, italics, and funny emotes/pictures. SO BEWARE.

Re: Thread, I really wish we were getting something worth the money they charge, release some HARD TO FIND GAMES ffs! Or at the very least give us easy to find games that never came out in our region.

It can't be that hard to scan a manual and unzip a ROM.

I still consider either Super Mario World, Ocarina of Time or Symphony of the Night to be 3 of the greatest console games of all time.. :)

I really wish more was available on virtual console. The selection is crap. I got Mario 64 and Donkey Kong Country but still, only because I wasnted to try something, they don't interest me that much.

i just think that for the money they could at least include scans of the ACTUAL manuals
not enhancing the games at all "to be true to the game" and then having THOSE piece-of-shit "manuals" reeks of lazyness
fuck off nintendo

(for the record, i bought sonic and gunstar heroes, and think i'm going to get smb and dkc at some point)

I have Mario 64, DK Country, FZero, Ristar, Gunstar Heroes and Golden Axe.

Like you said Corey, Im enjoying SM64 more than back when it first came out, and surprisingly for a 10 year old 3D game, it has aged quite well.

I can't believe how good M64 looks. Reminds me of Virtua Fighter and Virtua Racing and I mean that in a good way. The camera can be annoying at times but apart from that its all good.

What are you looking forward to, Pat?

On the Sega front Streets of Rage, Shinobi and anything non-Sonic since I have them all.

For SNES, hopefully a few of the Square RPGs so I can see what the fuss was about, also SMW or Yoshis Island.

N64 games I expect all the Mario games and Starfox, but I hope there's a chance to see Goldeneye and a few of the rarer titles like Paper Mario 64.

Currently playing: Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (PC), Far Cry 6 (PC), FIFA 21 (Series X), TimeSplitters 2 (Series X BC)
