Yeah it's a shit demo as one minute quarters are ludicrously short (I play 12 minute quarters), but there's no denying that it looks miles better than DOA4. Awesome stadium modeling, awesome lighting. Admittedly the boobs in DOA4 animate better than the manboobs in Madden.

Candy i know you love nfl, but this wrong on so many levels. It's the got the same single light source shading that doa4 uses. Also the same shadow system, ie not full self shadowed but only projected onto the floor. DOA4 actually uses more than 1 light source though on a couple of levels. Can't say that for madden so far. Also doa4 uses some level of AF and uses 4xAA and runs double the framerate, madden uses no AF, has no AA and is half the framerate. Madden looks like crap for a next gen title.Candy Arse wrote: Visually kicks the shit out of DOA4 however. Nice to see a lighting system in place!

DOA4's lighting is as flat as you could ever hope to see in a modern video game. The only game that is on the same level that I can think of is Resistance.
Like DOA4, Madden is missing self shadowing, but the daylight system actually looks like one, maybe because of the smart colour temperature choice in the demo. DOA4's daytime stages look like someone just booted up 3DS Max for the first time, placed a point light and hit Render.
Also to be frank I'd expect DOA4 to use 4xAA and run at 60fps since it's a marginal upgrade from DOA3 and DOAU, whereas Madden is lightyears ahead of the Xbox version despite a halved framerate.

Ah, it's the price of a can of soft drink.GreyWizzard wrote:paying for deck, boo-urns!
Anyway, it's not too bad- there is a card that when you put it down, lets you look at the next player's cards, and then acts as a wild.
Better elevator music than the others, too. Still elevator music, but somehow better.
