I am shopping for a broadband plan ahead of getting my 360.
My question is...can I get away with 256k up for the time being? I am still not flush with cash, so that is the fastest up speed I can get ATM.

Yes. You could get away with 128, but 1500/256 is the best plan (IMO).

Yeah man...unless you had hosting large numbers in mind 128 or 256 up is plenty.

You should be able to get ADSL2 (i.e. 24megabit) for cheap with TPG.

Mech, in Tassie we are lucky to get 512, let alone ADSL2.
Shit, we only got electricity 3 years ago

Do you have optus over there? The reason i ask is i just changed over to their dsl direct plan and before i wasn't able to get it. But apparantly they have upgraded a lot of the dslams to accept it now, so it might be worth checking.
