360 + HDMI + switchbox = weird audio issue

Post by Twit »

I have a weird and annoying issue with the 360 which I think may be HDCP related?

I now have the PS3, PVR, and 360 all going into a single HDMI input on the TV and I have an HDMI switchbox to flick between them. The PS3 and PVR work fine no matter what, but if I turn the 360 on whilst switched to a different input then when I switch to it I get no audio. Switching back and forth doesn't help. If I have the switchbox set to the 360's input before I turn it on then it works okay.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Not a big deal I suppose - just mildly irritating.

I've seen it happen with different switchboxes. It's usually audio that doesn't work... who knows why... Usually if you just turn the switchbox off and on it works fine. Just one of those awesome quirks of the modern age of mulitple devices I guess.
