Never heard of this, but I love a good scrolling shmup. I'd like to see (for example) stuff like Do Don Pachi or Mars Matrix* fancified and HD'd and released on XBLA.

* Examples chosen from memory off the top of my head - I'm no connoisseur or anything so I don't know what others would consider good examples of the genre.

Which is the capcom shooter with magic users? Is it Giga Wing? No, it is Gun Bird I am thinking of. I wouldn't mind a compilation of 1 & 2 with all story lines on xbla, sure I have 2 on the DC but all in one package on live would be nice.

Wouldn't be too hard, there was a Gunbird Special Edition released for the PS2 which was basically Gunbird 1 & 2 + a bunch of extra artwork and some other stuff.

I have that. Was expensive, though. Set me back five bucks.

wasn't the PAL version for PS2 gimped? As in no 60Htz options. I know the DC has it for Gunbird 2, I think it also has VGA support... I think.

I thought it had 60hz but I can't say for certain as I really can't remember. I'll pop it in my PS2 when I get home and have a look.

Yeah it has 60hz, but apart from that it's not great. It has load times in the middle of levels, no way to save your high scores or options as far as I can tell and it doesn't have the extra characters that the DC version had.
