Forza tonight anyone?
I'm keen to try out the new tracks which have been available for a while (100pts for Road America and 400pts for Motegi). If not tonight maybe tomorrow night.

I remember now why I stopped playing forza. The other night when we were all playing it, cletus and I were trying to remember the last time we had played the game...
I decided to play some more single player and unlock some more stuff, having no idea why I stopped all those months ago... I have to admit, I'm not the greatest at driving/racing games. I am okay, but when racing with other people, I'll be at the back of the pack. So... I am still in the amatuer class doing the naturally aspirated race, and I have some class U 999 type car (I think that is right) and well... I am not gret at handling the front wheel drive cars, I generally slide all over the place... but yeah... So I am slding and getting annoyed and decided to beef up a rear wheel drive car, I end up doing up the VW Golf all wheel drive car, and I am handling it pretty awesomely. I think, great, I am going to use this and continue on...
Oh my... I remember why I stopped playing, the AI is some of the worst AI I have ever raced against. The amount of times they will swipe you for no reason astounds me. I was watching in my rearview as a car slipstreams up to me and then turns into my rear to flip me out. I round a corner trying to overtake someone on the outside, they decide to drift across and ram me into a wall... it goes on and on. The AI is horrible and unrealistic. There is no way in hell a real person would drive like that. Maybe I have the AI set to 14 year old american playing on xbox live or something. It is pure shit.
I decided to take my golf out on the ring. I got 9min24secs so I was pretty happy. Proves I'm not that crap a driver, probably just a little too safe.
But yeah... online with friends is the only way I will play that turd of a game. AI is a killer

I completely disagree. You can't just do whatever you want on the race track, you need to respect the AI. You can't just squeeze your way to victory on every corner, it doesn't work and you'll end up in the kitty litter. You need to choose your time and place to overtake.

No, I did choose my time and place, there was no reason for the AI to drive to the other side of the track. It wasn't just losing grip and sliding across the track, it was slowing down and ramming me into a wall.
It is unrealistic AI. Basically you are out on a track racing 7 other people who are all out to get you. They never take each other out, they never ram each other, they never bump each other. They ram, hit, bump, and do whatever they hell they want with you with zero penalty. It's a mess.

they do take each other out, i've seen it many times. And if you pressure them by being up their arse all the time then they're more likely to make an error as well. It has great AI, I can't think of a game with better AI (though I'm sure there would be). It keeps things interesting.
What game does have realistic racing AI by the way?

I agree with Madmya. The AI is pretty good. They will drift out and put you in the kitty litter but that is them taking their rightful racing line for the next turn and me not being far enough past them to make them yield. Watch a F1 or V8 race it happens all the time.
As for being punted the only time I cop that is if I brake too hard for a corner or over correct right in front of them. What I have done is effectively brake test them and deserve everything I get.

Sounds like you haven't played enough racing games with me then!!GreyWizzard wrote: The amount of times they will swipe you for no reason astounds me.
