Team Fortress 2?

Post by Candy Arse »

I'm yet to play it online, but I'm wondering if anyone here has/does? Any chance of organising a Ranch meetup?

Get the PC version, 24 players, dedicated servers are only around US$20. It plays on almost all machines too.

Also, the Pyro unlockables and achievements will be out later today (early tomorrow) with new weapons (same as medic had) as well as two user-created maps. You also get Badlands and Goldrush that the console doesn't have.

Having both xbox and pc, having played both, it's like two different games with exactly the same graphics. The xbox version is not unplayable, it's perfectly ok, but it's just overall, nothing like playing it on a shit-medium-or high end pc.

It matters not if you have a shitbox, the fact is, TF2 is far better on a shitbox, than the 360.

It's not the matchmaking primarily either, the game is extremely skill based, now for something like halo, the slow methodic play it suited to a controller - but despite the strategy elements in the game it is also extremely mouse based.

Playing on a controller with a capped framerate just kills it in the eye.

Not coming from a bias perspective either, I have both platforms, both games, and some games are far better on a console, metal gear solid, halo, lost oddessey, and many more suit sitting back, soaking it up on the beanbag+large screen tv.

But team fortress 2 is not that game. Sure, I might have a bit of fun with the xbox version, but it’s not even comparable.
God I hate smashmouth and the offspring.

I enjoyed what I played of the game but the 360 version really just doesn't the community to support it.

It's hard to get a lag free game.

The PC version is having a free weekend starting today - I assume it works in Australia too. Worth trying if you enjoy the game.
