lol, you have to love those download speeds! I'd be in a fist fight with irate siblings quick-smart if I tried downloading that from my console at home... especially so at a speed like that.

I think it stands that my only one I've downloaded from my console was when I first got it and my siblings weren't home, had I known the updates were 120MB+ I would have avoided doing that though lol... it was ages before I could actually play anything.

As for this update though, some quick googling yielded no results but going by some previous updates I'm guessing it's just another stability/compatibility update.

I don't know what you're all complaining about, System Update is GOTG. There's new DLC available every time you turn your PS3 on, and it's all free! This is living.

Can't be arsed finding anywhere to put this (why isn't there a sticky PSN thread like in the Xbox LIVE forum?), but anyway...I noticed the store now has an alphabetical search. I'm pretty sure it didn't have one initially and that was annoying.

Fin.

There's a demo of Valkyria Chronicles out now, downloading atm... looked cool from screenshots. From what I hear it's a tactical RPG in 3D, I'm guessing like Advance Wars but I'll soon find out.

Whoa, and you can download the full game of Burnout Paradise for $49.95! Mind you I think it's been that price at most placs for the disc version, but it's still pretty interestig to see full games that were previously disc only have now made their way into downloadble territory... I wonder how big it is... that's got to be one of the things tht shits me off about the PSN actually, don't know how freaking big anything is until you go to download it! >_<

Odd feature coming out for Resistance: Retribution on PSP called PSP Plus+, which lets you use a DualShock 3 on the PSP.

Haha, probably so that all the people used to the default analogue stick layout won't have to suffer with the superior southpaw layout because there's only one analogue on the PSP.
Corey wrote:3.5 gig from memory for BP.
Heh that's not too bad actually, considering most demos run in the 1GB region 3.5GB for the full game isn't too bad.... *considers*

New firmware updates for both PS3 and PSP this month:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/10/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... -psp-v500/

Both get sleep timers (will be handy for charging controllers on the PS3) and the PS3 gets a facility to turn off after a download/install. PSP gets direct Playstation Store access, so you can download straight to PSP using the same PSN account.

The PS3 has new support for the official headset (high quality mode, charge level indicator and volume level), changes to trophy interface, and some additional friends info (how long since they've last been online). There's also an in-game screenshot tool, which just sounds like another API similar to the YouTube one as it "will be supported on a game by game basis".

Ooer, that's pretty cool about the sleep timers and auto-off after downloads.
