why would I go to all that effort? I hardly play online with PS3, no one (yourself included) actually talks in online games on the PS3 (and thats if the actual game DOES have voice chat, some games dont even have that....Corey wrote:Buy the SOCOM pack and sell the game.
Tell me Corey... why should I have to buy a new headset when I've already got a top of the line Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset which SHOULD work properly and sound great but doesnt on the PS3?

Just a chance to give the demo a crack is good enough for me, it's nice to see the new environments though the track is pretty similar to another from the original, and cool to give the monster truck a go, but it's a pity there's not really much chance to try out cooling your engine in water etc.Corey wrote:Ben the MS2 demo is an old build.
I agree you shouldn't have to but I don't think MS give you a choice.Blotto wrote:why would I go to all that effort? I use my headset all the time when I play with real life friends.

Crash Commando will be available tomorrow (not sure which regions) for $9.99US. If you haven't heard of it there was a video added to the store last week. Looks pretty good.

Yep. I was hoping we'd get that block game thing:

What time are they usually up? Just checked the blog and we SHOULD be getting that Magic Ball thing (if we're the same as Europe...I can never figure out Sony's release logic). I don't really know anything about it though (not watching the video from work).

Another PS3 firmware update on the way:
SauceThe PS3 firmware update (v2.60) is designed primarily to enhance the system’s media capabilities. The key feature is a new Photo Gallery application, which delivers a suite of tools for sorting through and displaying your digital photo collection. Digital pictures can be organized in groups according to various criteria, including the camera used to take the photos, the event date and time, colors in the photos, as well as the number, ages, or facial expressions of the people pictured. You can also create slideshows set to music and build photo playlists with an easy-to-use interface. The Photo Gallery application will need to be installed separately from the XMB after you update your PS3’s firmware. To install the Photo Gallery application, go to the Photo section on the XMB, select Photo Gallery and press the X button.
The 2.60 update also includes:
Guest access to PlayStation Store – This enables non-PlayStation Network members to browse through the storefront to check out the latest games, demos, videos, etc.
DivX 3.11 support – Videos in this format can now be played on PS3.

That sounds awesome! Especially happy about the DivX3.11 support. The PS3 has already become my main media centre (now that my 360 has problems connecting to Xbox Live and can't confirm the licence for DivX or whatever because the hard drive is from another console). So this just makes it better.
I wonder what happens when you throw a whole lot of porn into the new photo gallery?

Looks like some good stuff headed to PSN in the upcoming weeks:
Also, Creat Studios will have some Add-On content for their games (Magic Ball, Cuboid, and that Mahjong one). "Booster Packs will be available soon and will include tons of new levels, additional themes, level editors, more trophies, and lots of other exciting gaming goodness!" They also have some free themes out this week. If you haven't played Cuboid (rated 81 on Metacritic) it's worth having a look. Very very simple but good brain taxing fun.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/02/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... ing-fever/Even though the Punxsutawney Groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter, PlayStation Network has already caught Spring Fever. To help spread our excitement, we’re launching “PSN Spring Fever” on PlayStation Store to celebrate the exceptional PlayStation Network games and exclusive content on tap to launch in the next few months. And unlike the “official” Groundhog prediction, Spring for us starts tomorrow with the launch of Flower from thatgamecompany.
In addition to current PSN exclusive hits like PixelJunk Eden, PAIN and flOw, you can look forward to several other highly anticipated games such as Flower, Noby Noby Boy, Burn Zombie Burn and The Punisher: No Mercy to name a few. And with these exclusive blockbusters launching on a weekly basis, we’ll offer the best downloadable games lineup around. A few of the titles include:
- Flower
- Noby Noby Boy
- No Gravity
- Wheel of Fortune
- Burn Zombie Burn
- Ragdoll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic
- The Punisher: No Mercy
- In addition to these titles, PlayStation Network will also be launching Bomberman Ultra, Flock, Comet Crash, Watchmen and many more during this timeframe.
- Plus the existing blockbuster, exclusive titles already on PlayStation Network such as Crash Commando, Savage Moon, Echochrome, Pixel Junk Eden, PAIN, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty and more!
