HD-DVD drive no worky.

Post by Timbo »

Worked the other day for a sneak peek at some HD content on my new Projector, mounted said projector yesterday, installed everything (no change at all to the 360 or hddvd drive, and now it won't read any of my hddvd discs. Even brand new shrinkwrapped ones! WTF!? :suicide:

Just says disc unreadable. Is there a fix? Tried deleting hddvd memory, loaded Halo 2 so it would "update", still no good.

Am I buggered? I've got a small pile of shiny new hddvd discs ready to go (bought in the fire sales) and a looooverly new 1080p projector waiting to dazzle me. Am I buying a PS3 sooner than anticipated?

No idea how to fix it, but it might be worth hooking up to your PC to see if it reads any discs at all.

Yep.. I'd give Shaneus's suggestion a go. You'll have to get your hands on an appropriately version of Power DVD (I think 7. something) and then hack it to support playback of HDDVD.

Otherwise try reloading the HD DVD disk that came with the player.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that re-loading the HD-DVD disk worked a treat. Cheers. :)
