A CAMPAIGN to rename fish as "sea kittens" in order to improve their image has been ridiculed by the Federal Opposition.
Outspoken animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is using the "sea kitten" name as part of its push to restrict fishing.
Are you fucken serious? Oh wait it's PETA, of course you're serious. :suicide:

A QUEENSLAND woman says she has been forced to buy two seats on a Jetstar flight because of her weight.

The senior vice-president takes insulin made from animals but apparently "isn't a hypocrite".

That organization is a joke and does much more harm than good.

Student fuming over loss of lizard dung

Posted Sat Feb 7, 2009 1:49pm AEDT
Updated Sat Feb 7, 2009 1:50pm AEDT

A British graduate student was left "reeling" after his university threw out a bag of lizard excrement he had spent seven years collecting in the rainforests of the Philippines, he said on Friday.

Daniel Bennett had collected 35 kilograms of faeces of the rare butaan lizard during field work abroad, as part of his PhD research at Leeds University in northern England.

But he was devastated on returning from the Philippines to find that the bag, which was unmarked, had been thrown out with the rubbish in a clear-out of his laboratory.
Kinda funny, but you gotta feel for the guy. His life's work gone.

What cleaner sees a bag containing 35kg of crap in a uni lab and thinks it's something to be thrown out?

Here's a hint, if your shit is important to you, label your shit. Put a sign on it like "Yes, this is a bag of shit, but it's my shit, and it's serious shit. So don't throw out my shit." Simple shit really.

Women who perform the act of fellatio and swallow semen on a regular basis, one to two times a week, may reduce their risk of breast cancer by up to 40 percent, a North Carolina State University study found.
You wouldn't believe the things I've seen through your eyes...

I feel sorry for those cows... nobody actually looks after them, they just wander around town, get diseases then go off and die. That's just a real shame :(

13yo takes bus on joy-ride in China

Posted Mon Feb 23, 2009 11:13pm AEDT

A 13-year-old Beijing boy commandeered a city bus when its driver stopped for a bathroom break, going on a wild joy-ride that left a trail of smashed cars and other damage, China's state media said.

The incident on Sunday morning (local time) began when a bus driver returned from the bathroom at a transport terminal in eastern Beijing to find his bus gone, Xinhua news agency said.

The vehicle had been driven off by the 13-year-old, who zigzagged through traffic, crashing into two cars on the road and about 10 parked vehicles and knocking down two electricity poles, it said.

No one was injured in the incident.

"It was like watching a blockbuster movie when I saw the bus crashing into cars like a bulldozer," Xinhua quoted a man surnamed Liu as saying.

"I threw my canteen and ran for my life."

One of the parked cars was struck so hard that it was thrown through the front entrance of a local health clinic, shattering the building's glass door, Xinhua said.

Passersby eventually kicked the bus door open and seized the boy.

"He was thin... and trembling, but did not say a word," said a man surnamed Chen, who helped stop the bus.

The boy told police his surname was Chao and he was from the nearby city of Tianjin, the Beijing News said. Authorities were still trying to locate the boy's parents on Monday, Xinhua reported.
