Re: Windows 10
That folder at the very top that I've screenshotted: C:\$Windows.~BT
It's a hidden folder, as Jizz stated.

Re: Windows 10
Oh I checked control panel -> windows updates, says it'll let me know when it's ready. Guess it's staggered to some degree.
Incidentally, how large is that folder for you, for me it's 140mb

Re: Windows 10
I was about to use command prompt to force it, but I decided to let Windows Update check for updates one more time (after installing all of the prior Windows 8 updates) and then voila - it started.
Edit: Ah well I'd typed it, may as well keep it going. 140MB for me too.

Yeah mine was at 140mb last night just after it started, it must count in chunks... This morning I was at almost 6gb from memory.

Re: Windows 10
Thanks guys.
I noticed that I have a few Windows 8 updates in my backlog. I'll get those and then see how we go.

Sigh.

Re: Windows 10
Yeah mine has downloaded, $Windows.~BT is sitting at 5.49 GB... but it hasn't asked me to install yet. I saw that same message itch and I'm on a legit version, I just did the updates it wanted (I think it was Skype and Windows Defender) and then hit the check updates button again and I'm now on a 'You're set to automatically install updates' screen.
I will miss C:\$Windows.~BT, what a hero of a folder.

Re: Windows 10
Tried a few 'fixes' for those errors.
Now I'm getting error code '8024A000'.
Over it.

Re: Windows 10
I'm never this lucky, seems everyone is scrambling to get workarounds happening but it's just working for me through Windows updates

Re: Windows 10
So far I'm really digging this, it looks and feels real slick, there's a theme with green accent and a tent on the start screen, looks awesome.
Would love a swype style app for the on screen keyboard though

Anything you'd recommend doing to prepare for the update? Did you have to reinstall or lose anything?jizzlobber wrote:Righto I'm all done, posting this from the edge browser... now time to look around!!!

Re: Windows 10
Pretty good so far. They've really fixed a lot of the tablet/desktop stuff with continuum. No access to the desktop in tablet mode was a bit of a surprise.
My only gripe so far is the teeny tiny app list for accessing everything else that's not pinned. Why is this so small and also the same in Tablet Mode? Searching is now the main way of accessing apps. Hope you remember what is on your computer and what it's called.
Everything else is awesome so far.
