Had my fat idiot mind blown today when I learned that KFC hot and spicy isn't a permanent menu item in most parts of Australia.

The article says it's a permanent item in Queensland, and I can confirm WA too. Is it really a limited time thing elsewhere?

This is the biggest food-related mindfuck since I discovered gingernut biscuits are different in every state.

I haven't seen hot and spicy in years (vic)...maybe since the 90's, but have often thought it should be back on the menu. We have Zinger, but it's just not the same thing.

Can confirm it's not permanent in NSW. Get it a couple of times a year. There are a few random KFCs that have it all year round (Town Hall in Sydney CBD, Chatswood...and a few others) but haven't been to any of them for years so don't know if it's still a thing.

But yeah, not having it all year round sucks, but probably a good thing for my health!

I tried one of those ridiculous burgers with a glazed doughnut for a bun once (served with a side of duck fat fries), just to say I'd had one, so I'll try anything once (twice and you're in heart attack territory).
