1) Is the picture quality good, does it look the same as all the other TVs?
2) Does it come with a decent warranty?
If it comes with say a 3 year warranty then theres no worries. Recently I bought a 51cm TV for my room and it was a brand called 'TCL'. It was cheaper than the others and seemed just as good. The reason I got it though was because it came with a 5 year warranty so I knew it must be ok.
Apparently Aldi have a 30 day no fuss refend so you could try it out. 1 year warranty too. Big W have an Aiko set with a LG/Phillips screen for $999 though. Similar features but the contrast is 1600:1.
i'm so impatient, I went to bigW to find they are out of the aiko sets, went across the road to JB and bought a 32" soniq for $999, plus $50 for 5 year warranty.
I don't no shit about LCDs but it looks good enough to me!
I don't know if I should try fucking with the colour settings or anything, it already looks good but i'm not sure if it's ideal.
might use the guide thingo in PGR3.
oh, saw a blue ray display too, noticeable improvement, watching shattered glass falling from a moving car looked really nice, but I don't think it's a big enough improvement for people to upgrade from DVD.
I think a higher framerate would help a LOT, why aren't we seeing higher framerates in movies?
Because it would cost a metric fuckload, and with motion blur 24/25/30fps is usually "enough" to make shit look smooth in movies. Plus there's the whole legacy thing... we've got really high res versions of old TV shows, movies, etc, but you can't change the framerate on 'em.
