Yep it's a fucking joke. The NRL does everything it can to give the Boncos a leg-up.

There is no way they should lose to the Raiders with the way the NRL has stacked the deck for them. If we either win or lose by 10 or less it's a huge embarrassment for the Boncos and a sign that they're complete frauds.

Even the most amateur weekend-warrior will tell you that backing up to give your best on 5 days rest is a hell of a lot different vs 8 days rest. The preparation is also different as they allude to in the article with the Raiders only getting in ONE training session before the game...which is on the road interstate. Great work NRL!

Brisbane made 61% more tackles than Canberra, on the back of a very fast and brutal game against the Cowboys that went to golden point. That is massive. I believe that easily makes up the three extra days of rest.

Canberra has absolutely no excuse should they lose. After watching the Cowboys and how they backed up after the brutal game last weekend, well I'd be surprised if Brisbane weren't tired. It is the start of the season after all.

Just to add to that, it may well be that Canberra get up and put in a winning performance but that’s not down to the shorter rest period being of no consequence. It would be the result of modern athletic recovery techniques. It’s still a huge natural advantage to have three extra recovery days.

He'll give you a similar response because like myself, and unlike you, Pep is a highly active individual who has first-hand knowledge of performance and how critical the role of recovery actually is.

In relation to elite-level sport, less recovery time isn't just physical, it's mental. You're preparing for a different team with different game-styles, playing abilities, tendencies etc meaning your team-specific preparation is also reduced while the opponent gets more time to rest and prepare for you.

But that's ok, it's the Boncos and they deserve it.
