Re: NRL 2K17 - Boncos get extra rest, ref help...still lose

Post by mxlegend99 »

Yeah that was a try any day of the week. There was no separation at all and he had control at that point. How can it be a knock on if you havent lost it yet?

Regarding Slater. He was pretty poor last night. Timing out. Passing was shit and so on. But he definitely had the speed and zippiness he had before injury. If his body holds up. In a month or so he will be a lethal player like he was before his injury.

He still looks every bit of the grub he used to be too.

If Slater stays healthy he'll still be elite and Melbourne will be better for it.

The only reason the Boncos were in the game last night was because Melbourne were sloppy in their execution. Should have been over at half-time.

Also Cooper Cronk had the worst game I have seen him play. His decision making was terrible. His passes were off. That hurt Storm alot too.

Broncos defence was incredible though. Nut you cant help but feel if Slater wasnt rusty and Cronk wasn't terrible they could have run up a big scoreline.

Slater looked good. The spring and snappiness is unchanged. Match fitness is down but hey it's been a few hundred days since his last. That he looks so good and was so keen to impose himself on the game (for better or worse) is a credit to his training while out of the game.

And not much gets coaches hopping around the box like a wrong no try call.

Bellamy does that 30 times a game for just about every minor thing to happen. He is an awesome coach to watch react.

Perfect preparation would be having a home game after 8 days rest as opposed to a road game on 5 days rest.

But we can't all expect fair treatment can we!

Also Jason Taylor sacked already

Re: NRL 2K17 - Jason Taylor goneburger

Post by mxlegend99 »

Tigers had to sack him. They didn't create a single try in the last 160 minutes of football.

Against Panthers they kicked a penalty goal.
Against Raiders they scored an intercept try.

So one try for a Raiders mistake, a penalty goal from a referee decision. And absolutely nothing from their spine at all. After blaming that shit on Robbie Farah. Oh and if that wasn't bad enough, they conceded 82 points between those 2 losses where they creates zero points themselves.

After Round 1 I thought they looked good. But clearly it was just luck at facing the Rabbitohs with Greg Inglis running around with a fucked ACL and no halfback for them.

Also... perfect preparation:

Broncos coming off 8 day turnaround. Playing at home.
Raiders coming off 5 day turnaround. Playing away.

I know which preparation every single team in the NRL would prefer. I also think flogging the Tigers gives a team a false sense of confidence... Raiders still weren't as good as they are capable of being. They made a shitload of errors. Tigers were just that bad it was impossible not to rack up a scoreline against them. Raiders of last season would have put 60+ on them easily.

I think like the Panthers they will struggle the following week against a competent defensive line when things don't just happen for them. I think they will also be tired from all the running they did busting the line and only having 5 days recovery.

No one at the NRL bothers to think of player safety, quality of games etc when they schedule this shit.

How convenient you two muppets conveniently gloss over the bruising encounters the Broncos have had the past two weeks. Raiders thrashed Tigers in a canter after an 8 day rest. I know which prep I'd prefer.

Yes - the one where you get 8 days rest for a home game vs an opponent on 5 days rest.

They would have had an earlier finish vs NQ had your refs not done everything to keep Brisbane in the game.

"That pass is 2m forward but it's Cowboys vs Denver Broncos so it's fine!"

Now they're below club minnows the Raiders on the ladder  :fight:

If Brisbane lose to the Raiders with the entire deck stacked in their favour they should forfeit the season.

The Raiders are so bad we should have the extra rest! We have to abide by the cap, the league hates us AND a road game on 3 days less rest than the home team?

Broncos by 20 otherwise they're annexed from the NRL.

All I'm saying is, like last season, everything is falling conveniently into place for the Raiders. Right place at the right time.

 OMG they get the Broncos at home 3 days after Origin 2. Then the Cowboys a week later! fuck me how many free wins do they want to give these paupers?

That's right! Going on the road against a good (we think?) team with a 3-day rest disadvantage is exactly what we need! Thank you NRL for helping put us in the right place at the right time!

Only last week we saw what happened against Cronulla when there was a big rest discrepancy. Only once this season has a team had a huge rest advantage and blew it, even with the refs helping them stay in the game

No doubt the NRL loved the idea of this game - a chance to help the NRL Broncos get a leg-up whilst screwing the Raiders over at the same time.

I have no doubt at least one Raider will be sent to the bin in dubious fashion in a key point during the game, much like Wighton going against Melbourne last year.

Gotta keep the status quo, help the big boys out!

3 extra days rest not enough! No salary cap not enough! Free forward passes not enough!

Fuck thats some aas backwards logic to claim Raidrrs have the advantage against Broncos in this game.

Broncos are playing at home with an extra 3 days turnaround... the only way you could ask for more is if Raiders forfeit.

Here is the sweetheart Boncos schedule so far -

All off season to prepare for Cronulla
Extra 3-days rest for home game vs NQ
Same turnaround as the Storm for the road game
Extra 3-days rest for home game vs Canberra

The NRL is literally giving Brisbane every possible advantage to prop them up, if they finish this weekend 1 win and 3 losses they should be demoted to QLD cup.
