One of my earliest League memories is watching Mick Cronin. They were definitely good back then.

As a Dogs fan growing up in the 80's Cronin, Ella, Kenny, Grothe and Sterling were all pricks. Ray Price too dammit.

I've never felt that way about them since. About 7 years ago when they went on that late season run with Hayne leading the charge and made the top 8... that was a joke compared to back then.

I have a few mates who are Eels fans and they exist in NRL depression. It's hard to hate a team that suffers so much.

The Eels and Dogs had a real life rivalry going on back in the day.... I live in Brisbane and see the Courier Mail at work... it's easy to hate the Boncos. Even tho they have 2 heads they still only have one eye when it comes to NRL.

Fuck the Boncos.

Honestly 6 rounds in and outside of Storm there's no team I am comfortable backing for a top 4 spot.

Dragons look great. But I am not sure if they can keep it going.
Roosters looked terrific but have gone to shit.
Cowboys were great. But you lose Thhurston ontop of other injuries and its going to be a really difficult task.

Those were the most consistent teams. Panthers will be lucky to scrape into the top 8 from here. We face Sharks this week and tgey just ended the Storm winning run. They are finding form finally. While Panthers will do well to keep a team on the field.

Raiders are clearly going to be top 4 and likely Grand Finalists.

Raiders haven't impressed me yet this year. But with a bit of momentum they are a team that's damn near impossible to stop. I think they're a long way from being the team they were last year. But it's still early days and you don't want or need your best form this early on.

My expected top 4 right now would be:

Storm
Raiders
Sharks
Dragons

Broncos and Roosters will go close, depending on injuries and Origin period could possibly scrape in at the expense of the Dragons.

Leaving 2 spots in the top 8 for the likes of Panthers, Cowboys, Warriors and Sea Eagles to fight for. Until the Thurston injury I would have not only had Cowboys as top 8 certainties, but top 4 certainties. But until they reveal how bad it is. I have them as a fringe top 8 side. If he is fit next round I will back them for the Dragons spot in the top 4.

Panthers will miss out. We can't put 2 good seasons together. No matter how much things look to have improved. We turn to shit the following year. 2018 we might be a chance.

Thurston out up to a month
Ben Hunt out up to 2 months

Injuries everywhere. So whilst Madmya broscience says teams aren't disadvantaged playing on less rest, it certainly does make players more predisposed to injuries to do compromised recovery.

The Raiders have only had 1 bad loss this year and it was off the back of a 5-day turnaround (Sharks).

Against the Cowboys and Boncos on the road and in one case off 5-days rest again, they lost by a combined 2 points.

Raiders have the size, speed and skill to run over every team in the league.

I'm...unusually confident about my team. I think we'll make the GF.

Jack Bird signs a big deal with the Boncos. They seriously don't adhere to the salary cap, do they?

And another friendly home Friday night game coming up tonight!

Joke.

 Boncos barely beat the Titans at home for yet another Friday night game.

Raiders beat them by 75 or so last week. Just saying

Felt for the Titans. They were the better team and only lost becaise Broncos poached James Roberts from them for $100k less tgan they were paying him.

Broncos were shit but I never doubted they would win that game. Titans are a lot like the Knights. Play hard. Probably the better team and just cant seal the deal.

Then randomly they play like the average rosters they gave and get flogged

Best win this year for the Raiders.

The Warriors brought their A game, dominated possession in the first half and were allowed to only stay back 5m from the play-the-ball all game.

We up the intensity in the second half and they can't hang with us.

Yep that was definitely the first time this year the Raiders have flexed their muscles and shown what they were capable of. Still not their absolute best yet. But they did so well to be in the game at halftime at all. Most teams would have let Warriors run out to a healthy lead. The goal line defence was really good. Something you never said about Raiders last year.

Road wins for Cronulla this season so far -

Parra
Canberra
Melbourne
Penrith

Parra aren't even a real team but the other 3 are legit road wins.

Anyone willing to argue for the Sharks being the best team right now?

Penrith...really underwhelming so far.

Anthony Griffin is proving to be another Matt Elliott.

He drops Sitaleki Akauolo, Villiame Kikau and Corey Harawira-Naera... 3 of our better players. And keeps Peta Hiku on the bench against a great pack and brings back in a front rower who was last destroyed in Round 1 (Tim Browne).

He probably thought he came up with a genius move having a centre and shitty forwards on the bench while our impact players were dropped. Gee he sure showed Sharks.

The attitude in the club is pathrtic. The coaching at the club is terrible. We have a great roster being wasted. Thankfully our window is 2/3 years with the group locked up so far. Sadly Griffin will be here atleast the rest of this year.

Parra has cleared a very low bar, congrats

Meanwhile the Raiders put 85 points on them AND slapped the shitty Eels :fight:

We only have 2 wins. Over 14th and 16th place on the ladder.

An article from Darius Boyd celebrating the fact that the Boncos don't adhere to the salary cap.

Yeah fuck those cheating cunts. Benji Marshall, David Mead, Korbin Sims and James Roberts didn't sacrifice hundreds of thousands of dollars to play for Broncos. They are getting paid more money, just not under the salary cap.

No player will knock back $400k from one club to play for $200k or less at another. Mead, Marshall and Sims are all supposedly earning a quarter of what their former clubs paid, and Roberts is earning less than Titans were paying him and less than half what the Dragons offered him.

I wonder if David Mead and Benji Marshall regret joining the Broncos reserve grade team?

Oh and I am adopting Canberra Raiders as my second team this year. Penrith Panthers are a bunch of useless cunts being coached by a fucking retard. I love the club, but they would be doing well to win another 5 games this year. I can't ever love the Raiders or fully enjoy them winning. But I do like them, their style of footy and would llike to see a different team on grand final day. All the other contenders have been there much more recently than they have.
