Yes - can't wait to watch Parra choke in the finals in spectacular fashion....once againpilonv1 wrote:At least we have something to look forwardCandy Arse wrote:Bububu wait for Gutherson
Ahh yes and no. I know exactly what you're saying and I do somewhat agree, but I just don't agree that someone stripped of their inhibitions is their "actual self". It's not. Just because someone may entirely lack empathy whilst wasted doesn't mean that they don't have such feelings when sober, so I don't agree that it's a better account of who they actually are. I haven't mixed sleeping pills with alcohol, but I'm curious if it's similar to just getting hammered whilst exhausted, because that's a fucked combination. It's to the point that I make sure I have a nap before a big night because I know it's not a good type of drunk.Peppermint Lounge wrote:...Madmya wrote:You've reached that conclusion based on the CCTV footage? I'm curious as to what you thought must have happened before this footage was leaked. I had imagined some bloke with death in his eyes going on a rampage but the reality is Lodge is fucked up on some kind of substance, loosely throwing punches and staggering everywhere. You could push him over.
And let's not blame the drugs. All drugs and alcohol do is strip away inhibitions. You learn more about a person's actual self when they're messy than you do when they're straight and behaving. I've been around people off their nut on all manner of drug and alcohol cocktails plenty of times. None of them got violent or threatened death to people. Lodge also has a conviction for assaulting a woman. He's a nasty piece of work.
Please. Packer almost killed someone whilst you're arguing Lodge may have also nearly killed someone.Peppermint Lounge wrote:Russell Packer is an arsehole too but he didn't violently invade someone's home, tear up the joint and terrorise a mother and child either. And don't forget it was a pack of armed cops who stopped Lodge from nearly killing someone, not Lodge himself. Madmya on another hiding to nothing here.
Yeah it's hard to disagree with this. I was sad to see Hunt go, and not getting Taylor to replace him really was a disaster. I have no idea why he didn't come back, it's his best chance for a premiership.Candy Arse wrote:Matt Johns' assessment of the child abusing, woman-bashing cheap-shot Boncos -
In my expert opinion he's 100% correct with this assessment. They're cooked.“They were awful,” was Johns’ blunt assessment in the immediate aftermath.
“It’s been a tough week for the Broncos and it is only round one but they really struggle in the creative positions.
“They don’t have a dominant half.
“The missing of Ash Taylor is disastrous for that club because Milford’s a runner and Nikorima is a clever player, he’s a skilful player, but he’s not a dominant half.
“I’m sorry but from what they showed tonight I just can’t see them getting near the eight.
“I know it’s only round one but I look at the creative positions and I just don’t see the players there.”
Canterbury actually looked good in that game too. Mbye at fullback is a revelation. Who knew? (obviously Dean Pay)Peppermint Lounge wrote:You can all console yourselves with Melbourne’s dominant win. No one likes Canterbury here anyway. Or maybe you all like Melbourne less.
