Re: iPhone
Pity their stock price isn't reflecting their great success.

Re: iPhone
Mine too :S
All I can offer is the stock was supposed to go to the moon ($1000) and it's sitting what $423 atm down from a high in the $700's?
So unfortunately for stock holders this great success is not hitting their wallets.
I'm sure apple are pleased as hell and sitting on a shit ton of cash but the market* is not impressed
*Note the market is often wrong, see geniuses trying to short RIM to $0 even though they were sitting on a pile of cash and had a good Z10 launch...

Re: iPhone
Apple are opening a new store at Highpoint shopping centre (Melb) on the 27th of this month. So it's much closer than the city stores for me now. Might come in handy once I need a new replacement battery for one of my devices.
Re: iPhone
Was listening to The Talk Show podcast today and they were talking about how when they went overseas they got _terrible_ battery life for their iPhone 5s. I guess LTE is more efficient than 3G, I guess because of the faster speed you don't need to keep the radio on as long?

Re: iPhone
Same with 3G vs 2.5, or wifi vs 3G. Uses more power, but happens more quickly. The only problem is if you then use it more because it's faster...

Re: iPhone
Problem is all that money is sitting offshore, as soon as they tap it they have to pay US taxes on it, hence why they issued debt recently, cheaper for them to borrow money than use their own cash reserves and pay tax.General Chaos wrote:Mine too :S

.
I have a feeling steve knew as soon as their products were commoditised that they would need cash to burn through while they come up with some new idea/concept.
Re: iPhone
Dear god I miss LTE on my phone. 3G is a piece of crap comparatively.
Re: iPhone
If only iPhone 5 hadn't been such a disappointment, they may have sold more than 31 million in a quarter.

Re: iPhone
Doesn't state anywhere that number is all iPhone 5. The 4s still sells extremely well and considering their profit fell, I would say most of that number is the 4s which has lower margins.
IPad sales fell by a large chunk, they need a new gadget asap.

Re: iPhone
They have a cheaper polycarbonate version too in the works. Much harder to wow people now in the smart phone market since it's getting quite commoditized.

Clearly. I am still blown away by it. Apple should buy him.

Re: iPhone
Funny enough when you fly into the USA, they scan your fingerprints and keep it on record with your passport. But yes the new iphone is a great way for the NSA to get fingerprints on the US populous.
Re: iPhone
Yeah, because the first thing it does it send your name, address and fingerprint to the government.
