The Avengers is my movie of the year so far. I'll be waiting for the Director's/Extended Cut where Captain America meets up with the English woman and (I assume) finally goes on that date.

With his grandmother :|

Not going to be a directors cut but that scene is in the deleted signed scenes.

In readiness for Bourne Legacy I did the Bourne hat-trick yesterday and loved them as much as I always have. Bourne was the best thing to happen to Bond it appears!

I usually agree with you Candy, but I can't on this. People who say Casino Royale got inspiration from Bourne are nuts. Casino Royale is simply the first Bond film to actually stay true to its source material. Skyfall is going to destroy Bourne Legacy. I still can't believe that Renner was playing second fiddle to Damon in the trailer for his own movie.

The first Bourne by Doug Liman was good. But yeah, Greengrass' aesthetic shits me to tears. Shaky-cam isn't bad, it is just bad in the hands of people who have no idea how to use it properly.

Not much doing today, stiff neck and all. So sat home and watched a Romero double on BR. Went with Dawn of the the Dead and Day of the Dead. Both looked pretty damn good in HD. Love both of these films, classics...

I don't believe CR was inspired by Bourne and I know it wasn't, but I believe CR was what it was in part thanks to Bourne.

Bond pre-Bourne and Bond post-Bourne are two very different things - for the better I might add.

Indiana Jones Blu-rays out tomorrow.

Here's the edited version of the swordsman scene from Raiders.

Avengers 3d on bluray a few days ago i give it a 8 for its 3d effects. Also picked up titanic 3d and this one is as good if not better than avatar for its conversion it gets a solid 9. This is the benchmark i think for all 3d movies to follow suit

Yeah Avengers 3D is pretty awesome. I grabbed that too. Effect was nice. I'm trying to get How To Train Your Dragon 3D now that the samsung bs is over. Love that film and really want to see it in hd 3d.

You are well mad. Titanic is the benchmark for conversion, but better than natively shot Avatar? Fuck no.

Titanic was the film that made me decide that even the best converted 3D isn't as good as the 2D counterpart. There quite was a bit of ghosting in that conversion (especially in the scene where they're wading through the floating corpses in the water). So yes, it's an impressive conversion, but imo all conversions can go and get fucked.

I hate knowing stuff like that... I just want to run in and go crazy!

which version of blade runner do I buy on BR?

also, have almost finished watching battlestar on br... Uh yay filter effects which blanket the screen :( audio is fucking spectacular though. Dialogue heavy and it's so clean.

The Final Cut.

This is great timing as my best friend just handed me an $80 JB gift card as a belated bday present. :D

I bought the final cut on HD-DVD. That's the one with five versions yes? I was looking at amazon and there are so many editions with all the cuts on it... Really not sure which to get.

this looks okay

That's odd. Ages ago I got the two-disc Final Cut release from JB: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don't think it's worth owning the other versions (especially the goddawful theatrical cut) once you have the final cut.
