Re: Hi- def movies you've seen lately
Picked up the Avatar Extended Edition 3 disc Bluray from JB today for $27. Great price.
Watched the Extended Cut (about 20 mins longer than the theatrical) and it is a much stronger film because of it. What sucks is that after watching the 45 mins of deleted scenes that would have cost an extra $60 mil or so to render to completion, there is just so much that had been cut from the story. Some truly seminal scenes that would have brought the film to another level. I'm hoping Cameron doesn't have to cut much from the sequels, because entire plotlines are missing from what has been released.
Haven't even watched the making of shit which is supposed to be out of this world crazy. Pick this blu up, one of the best blu releases available and more than worth the money. I have no idea how they managed to squeeze and extra 20 mins onto the blu without lowering the bitrate from the previous release. But it looks fucking insane.
A Long Way From Home, The Dreamhunt and Sturmbeast Festival are amongst the highlights.

The Expendables
Fucking awesome. PQ as you would expect but it was the AQ that rocked it. Terry Crews Shotgun when he first comes in and blasts the crap outta everyone in the tunnel had both subbys pounding away and simply is THE BEST sounding gun in movie history. I'll be watching this again and again and again. One of my MOTY

Is Aliens available on blu by itself? I know that over here they sometimes split the box sets up.BruceCamblzChin wrote:Aliens on blu ray
Fuck knows I don't want Alien 3 or Resurrection.
Re: Hi- def movies you've seen lately

Your trolling is too blatant Pat. Better luck next time.
Re: Hi- def movies you've seen lately
If you just said Alien Resurrection I would grant you that.
But Alien 3 is a superior film to Avatar. That said, it has been a while since I watched it (maybe 5 years) and the HD version is allegedly out of print so I am yet to find it.

Can't agree with that. I watched Alien 3 recently and...it's not very good.Pat wrote:If you just said Alien Resurrection I would grant you that.

I'm being outnumbered here based on my star wars comment arent I?
Anyway, I shall be watching the alien films as soon as I hunt down a copy of the box set.
In the meantime I have rambo series and then the rocky films to get through. The Italian Stallion (no homo)
