I suppose it's always an insult but lately things are just shocking in a "this is just bullshit" way.

Identical twins...one is satan incarnate.

Satan twin pretends to be the nice twin and secretly goes around creating mayhem while the jesus twin is in a coma.

Jesus twin is mistaken for satan twin.

Satan twin wakes Jesus twin and takes his place faking a coma.

Jesus twin is accused of all the mayhem.

Apparently,nobody has heard of DNA or fingerprinting in Erinsborough.

A fake wedding is now in progress to trick the Satan twin into coming out of hiding.

Lou has fallen in love with a russian mail order bride who is now missing.

Not that pretty Azn chick with the worst acting skillz I've ever seen appears in far too many scenes.

Dr Carl is now half of a Wigglesesque duo.

Mafioso Boss' daughter is now a nun.

It goes on but it's too convoluted for words.Actually I've spent more time explaining this than I intended.

How is DNA going to help with twins?

Pretty stupid, especially given most identical twins aren't _that_ identical, and are always easily differentiated if you know them.

hahaha.. I loved how convoluted Neighbours stories were over the last couple of years, but it's just gone to shit since the plane crash.

Back then, it was feeding on itself, and I loved every minute of it, the way it would subtly poke fun at tired soapie cliches and all that, but now it's just feeding off the regurgitated remains of its own feces that it's already eaten for the last year.

I did not know that.I knew they were hatched from eggs and most had a slight tail and warts in pubic areas,but I didn't know they shared identical DNA.

Having read this I must say I'm glad I haven't watched neighbours in some time. That Mafiosa daughter is hot though. She's a nun now? WTF.

Home & Away is the same I think, I heard someone talking on the radio about how there was a Helicopter crash, and everyone survived in the outback for several weeks with no suplies (Lost, anyone?). Long gone are the days when the story line revolved around Alf's dilemnas in keeping the boat shed running, and the new kid's vendetta against flathead.

Fuck, i haven't watched H&A or Neighbours in ages... but i was wondering throught he lounge room and saw part of H&A and my first thought was that it looked exactly like Lost.

As for Neighbours... if the opening post is true... then yeah... WTF? I realise they need to do something to keep people watching... but that shit is ridiculous. Meh, with exception of the odd hottie on both shows... they are both pointless.

Yeah unfnk, you are right, it really used to poke fun at itself and the whole soapie world in general. The inclusion of the soap within a soap... whatever the show was the old ladies used to watch was classic.

They used it recently actually, mentioned the whole twin in a coma story line.

I always preferred Neighbours over Home & Away, as it I felt it had more basis in reality, and was the lighter of the two shows. Also the acting wasn't as dodge... plus Brooke Satchwell was on it. I still want to marry her and have babies with her...

What shits me about H&A and neighbours is the keeping of unwanted pregnancies. I mean I don't know if the Religious lobby now sponsers both these shows but the one on Home and Away she was drugged and then the guy raped her why she was unconscious so when she found out she was pregnant it was a surprise as she didn't realise he'd been doing this. So what do you do? Oh you keep the baby to the rapist... er yeah oh and your husband supports you because he's fine with her being raped and getting pregnant etc.

Neighbours, she's a tart, fucks 3 different guys falls pregnant assumes it's her last ex's, he does't want to know her and she decides that instead of an abortion she'll have the baby on her own regardless of waht he thinks and of course everyone's favourite religious nut on neighbours the character harold is her dad so they are expousing how great and courages and of course correct the decision is...

I was actually surprised that they got inside the abortion clinic in neighbours.

Some stories are pretty hard to get across. I mean neighbours was flamed for the whole lesbian kiss (skye again). There aer so many thoughts on abortion it isn't funny.

I do like that they haven't gotten Skye and Dillon back together... I hope they keep them apart. It would be too obvious and nice to get them back together, and lessen the realism. As real as it can get.

God I sound like a toss talking about this...

Can you tell when I've had holidays from work? It's the only plot lines I know from H&A and I catch the last bit of neighbours most nights when I get home.

My point is that they still painted abortion as the evil way out, h&A didn't even present it as a consideration.

Not exactly identical. Random mutations means newer DNA testing can differentiate.
