Re: What do you drive?
Finally time for me to get a new car, Focus is 10 years old and I can novated lease through work. Need to get something new in the 25-30k range, looking at a bunch of 5 door hatchbacks but nothing really takes my fancy.

Re: What do you drive?
Turns out there was some awesome stuff under 30k. Test drove my final two choices for a new car.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta Distinctive
Renault Megane GT-Line diesel
Can't decide which one I will get but the Alfa was fucking awesome to drive. It's probably about 3-5k more though, but it's probably worth it.

Re: What do you drive?
Yes, but it's an Alfa. It looks glorious, it'll sound heavenly, and people will lust after you in it... but ultimately it'll be as bad an idea as that one I had about buying an Esprit as a first car.

It's salary packaged through work, if it's a lemon I can get rid of it in 3 years.

Re: What do you drive?
The Alpha looks better. You're not keeping this car either way so go with what makes you feel good.

Re: What do you drive?
Alfa is going to cost me nearly $80 a fortnight more, and the GPS isn't built in, sits on top of the dash
I can't decide

Re: What do you drive?
The Alfa is way quicker to 100. What's to decide?

Re: What do you drive?
Why not get a Golf? You get a reliable, well-built car, with none of the bizarre Alfa issues, with the added bonus of it not being French either.

Re: What do you drive?
It's boring as shit. Brother has a Golf and Mazda 3 and they're fine boring cars.
Starting to think that a built in satnav is something I'd rarely use.

Re: What do you drive?
eww GPS on the dash, that's nasty. Either inbuilt or not at all I reckon, do you have to get a hatchback?
Vzzzbx, you lose again!

Re: What do you drive?
It's removable from the dash, so it doesn't always have to be there. Needs to be something with a decent amount of space but not too big (small garage & small parks at worK).

Re: What do you drive?
might be a bit small
Looks like if I want the Alfa I have to choose the 2.0 diesel version which is about 4-5k more than I wanted to spend, and about 7-8k more than the Renault

Re: What do you drive?
You'd need to weigh up if you'd end up saving that much in fuel costs over the period you own the car.

Very, very few petrol versions left. Only about $10 a week difference too.

Re: What do you drive?
Think I'm going with the Renault, mainly because its in my budget. Will be about 8k cheaper, longer warranty & capped servicing.

Re: What do you drive?
Dropped off my FJ to get some work done. Bullbar, recovery points, suspension + lift, underbody protection & LED driving lights. Looking forward to phase 2...

Re: What do you drive?
I'd totally love to replace the lighting (although not the headlights) on my car with LEDs. Is there an online store that sells drop-in replacements?

Re: What do you drive?
Cheers Pepp. Despite loving the look of the Alfa, I'm excited by how integrated everything is with the Renault and looking forward to driving it. The next two weeks until it gets here will be so longPeppermint Lounge wrote:Congrats. Nice vehicle.

Re: What do you drive?
Driving lights aren't your headlights, this is what I'm getting installed on my bullbar (that's also getting installed):
