Re: What do you drive?
Don't ever drive a mid engine car itch. You'll be dead in a week.
Re: What do you drive?
I've actually driven a few N/A MR2s and they felt just like my Celica, really. Better obviously but they're only about 140 kw so I found them pretty sedate.
I think I'm over thinking it actually and I'm looking forward to test driving a manual Falcon asap.
I just thought maybe madders would say
'Mate steer clear if I could do it again I'd never get the manual' or something.

Re: What do you drive?
It's not the power that makes them hairy, it's the tendency of mid-engine cars to let go and spin if you slow down from a decent speed mid-turn. Good fun!itch wrote:I've actually driven a few N/A MR2s and they felt just like my Celica, really. Better obviously but they're only about 140 kw so I found them pretty sedate.

Oh get fucked cloud! You better not be going all family on me. What'dya reckon you get for it? Similar to what you paid for it? I'm guessing the depreciation in value is compensated by all the mods you've done to it.

For 25k I'd expect a hoon on your missus too.
Took this in the weekend at a dam near Maponga, went for a ride down to Cape Jarvis, was about 180km each way. Some nice roads.

Re: What do you drive?
I get my new VF commodore company car in two weeks. Woo!
For the last three years I have had a falcon (started with 6000 kays on the clock) and loved it. However two months ago the three year lease ran out on the ford and I inherited someones commodore company car who left with three months left on the lease.
As a Holden fan growing up, it pains me to say I miss the bigger engine of the ford. Company cars have the small 6 engine in the Holden while Ford dont offer a smaller 6 engine size. However ford dont offer the station wagon anymore and i need the extra room and chose Holden for my next car. Other good points of the Holden are all the extra features standard in the VF. While the ford only had 6000 kays on the clock when I got it, I am looking forward to my first new car in two weeks time. Woo!!!!

Soooo, looks like Camaros and Mustangs are coming to Australia. I have no idea which flag I will fly now. I might have to switch teams, I have a soft spot for the Camaro.

Re: What do you drive?
How fucking brilliant does that Toyota FT-1 look? I hope they put it into production looking just like that - for a Japanese car, it looks absolutely mental.

Re: What do you drive?
Ah I was just bitching the other day about why there was nothing like the Supra from Toyota when back in the day they used to make fast cars and attractive ones, the 86 doesn't really do much for me but if they release this FT-1 in a twin turbo Supra sucessor I'll be wanting one badly and please a local release would be nice to.
Vzzzbx, you lose again!

Re: What do you drive?
I've been bitching about that for a while now. The 86 is a step in the right direction, but this thing is sheer lunacy. For Toyota, that is. I hope they make an MR2 successor that looks just as outrageous.

Re: What do you drive?
What is this FT-1 you speak of? I saw a supra style (poor mans LFA) prototype in the toyota showroom in paris in Oct and was well impressed. Is the FT-1 an evolution of that car?

Also, the mobile internet here is so poor, I can hardly ever make things load.
Just Google 'Toyota FT-1' - it's not rocket surgery

Rocket surgery... I like it. I'm also on mobile and googling that seems too hard. So here we are. I'm just gonna picture it as a Yaris with a massive spoiler.

Think more along the lines of Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo and Toyota having a love child somehow.
