Click.

Adam Sandler rides again.Sorry, make that Adam Sandler sucks again.

The movie starts out asking too much of the viewer and ends the same way.Shit story, shit concept and shit effects.

The only saving grace for this movie is that it does end.

Not worth a rating...but I'll have a go.

Nope,couldn't do it.

Cry Wolf

I watched about 30 minutes of it before turning it off. Right off the bat you'll notice the convoluted plot and hammy as fuck acting. B grade to the max.

I give Cry Wolf 30 minutes out of 100...before turning the shit off.

I'm going to give Elijah Wood's 'Green Street Hooligans' a watch soon, will report back.

Got dragged to My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Awful.

I give My Super-Ex Girlfriend 3 What happened to you kiddo?'s out of 10.

After watching that I felt a need for a shot of pure testosterone. I found it in Green Street Houligans.

Think Romper Stomper in a fancier setting with rival football clubs taking place of race hate. Elijah Wood wasn't bad, but he never convinces me that he's anything but helpless since LoTR.

I give Green Street Houligans 7 cut throats out of 10.

I bought Sky Captain the other day. I had seen it at the cinemas and enjoyed it, so I watched it last night. It is a great movie, I don't get why the critics panned it, or even why it did bad at the cinemas. It is just so much fun and has so much for everyone. Cheesy one liners, an awesome adventure flick, romatic interestes... ahhhh it is such an old skool adventure film.

I almost busted out Crimson Skies after watching it.

About 30 minutes too long...

But loved it (even more the second time).

And as for upcoming movies;

Just watched The Warriors. I feel like such a noob.

Amazing film, the comic book cuts are great. Cool soundtrack, the fight in the toilets was awesome.

Definately one of the great films.

You developed some clairvoyancy talents now Cletus so you know its going to suck?

Actually, T4 with no Cameron, Arnie probably will blow goats so you dont actually need to be able to see the future to know that :(

Which actors exactly aren't good enough to be in it? The reason I've been looking forward to The Departed for so long is because of how great the cast is. Though I haven't seen Nicholson do anything remarkable since A Few Good Men imo.

Scorcese is great at making mob movies, so I'm looking forward to it.

Whoever scored that trailer should be shot though.

I guess i'll add a mini-review for a lesser known movie as well.

Tristam Shandy's 'A Cock and Bull Story'

This film is about the making of the film adaption of a novel you're currently watching. It's incredibly clever and fucking hilarious.

I give it 8 windowned penises out of 10.

Chan/Li Action Movie Close to a Done Deal
Source: The Associated Press August 1, 2006

Jackie Chan said Tuesday that an action movie starring Jet Li and himself is nearly a sealed deal.

"All the hurdles have been overcome. The only problem left is the script," Chan told The Associated Press after a press conference to promote his new action comedy, Rob-B-Hood.

"We need a script that he approves and I approve. If that goes well, shooting will start in March or April in Shanghai," he said.

"It will be more American-style. It will be more suited to foreign audiences than Chinese audiences," he said about the plot. "If you make a Hollywood movie, of course you have to follow their wishes. They're paying us so much money."

American style??....noooooooooooooo

So it'll be a buddy movie with Jackie Chan as the black guy, it'll have 4 fights, and each one will be less than 30 seconds long.

Fuck.

So... fearless isn't Li's last martial arts film then? He pulled a Kevin Smith on us and lied! He lied in song, and that's the worst kind!

Actually I noticed the trailer said his last "epic" martial arts role.

I guess he is sick of being the period piece guy.

On the weekend I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and Superman in Melbourne... in the fancy cinema at the Crown Casino.

Kind of surreal to be lazing back in a super-comfy armchair, eating popcorn and sipping on champagne while they bring you a three course meal! The Chocolate and Kahlua mousse was superb.

And great movies too.

It was funny watching my mates start to squirm in their seats towards the end of superman... perhaps asking for a beer every 20 minutes isn't a good idea in a 2.5 hour movie.

PS. They showed the Bond preview... looks promising.

I watched The Monster Squad the other day. Apparently in the US they are showing movies on TV in HD with 5.1 sound. Ahhhh it is wonderful. It was a treat to watch.

Dracula was so damn cool. He was like the Macgyver of Vampires, all the shit he had on hand. Electro Staff, so much dynamite.

"Meeting adjourned"

I wanna be that dark.

I saw Hoodwinked today. A lot better then I expected. Kind of a weak start but once they get to the Wolf it just goes into the most wonderful world of bizarre.

It's not disney or dreamworks and it kicks arse.

8 Hyperactive squirels out of 10.

PS the small child next to me need to go to the toilet for about for about half of the film and his mum never noticed. I felt so sorry for him.

To clarify, Jet meant Fearless is his last wu shu movie. All the martial arts that he did in Fearless, Hero, Once Upon A time, Fong Sai Yuk etc are hardcore wu shu styles. Basically he said he's had enough because wu shu is very hard on the body and hes close to a serious injury and he believes he has accomplished everything that he wanted to do in Fearless.

BUT he has also said if "conditions" are right he may do another one.

So hes still open to movies like Kiss of the Dragon which features martial arts fighting but not necessarily a martial arts movie. More like freestyle martial arts if you like.

Although Chan has said the movie will be financed in the US, i've read news that it will in fact be a China production. Hopefully its not a US production...please.

More details translated from a chinese website:
A reporter who contacted Jackie Chan's management found out that J&J Project is financed by foreign studios, and they'd be working with Chinese studios since the film will be shot in Shanghai, China. The reporter guessed that Shanghai Film Group would be involved and contacted it and found out that the movie relates to the adventure of a martial artist who accidentally falls into the time tunnel and goes back to ancient China, running into Monkey God Sun Wu Kong. The summary of the script is out, but who would play Monkey God has become an issue. Of course, how much truth is there to this news depends on whether Shanghai Film Group is actually the China-based studio that would be working on the movie.

I think it looks pretty exciting, test screenings have been positive. I didnt think it would work considering how IA just oozed so much style, it felt like it was wrong to change the setting and atmosphere but its starting to look good. Some shots and scenes are directly from IA.
