Herogasm launched today. It's a spin off from The Boys. Written by Ennis, and different artists are going to be taking a crack at it.

All the "Heroes" take off for a giant fuck party. Fantastic!

In alot of ways the ultimate universe is a ploy to get you to buy comics that you would normally have interest in. far too many tie-ins spread over far too many titles. I have officially lost my patience in following any part of it.

I am curious bout grimm fairy tales, i'll check it out.
I am more interested in getting marvel's wonderful wizard of oz comic remake - I really like the joyful quirkyness of the artwork in it

I've read the first issue of Oz, you are pretty much just getting it for the artwork. So beautiful.

I love the Luna Brothers. Just started reading The Sword. First issue is so fucking awesome. Good to see The Girls in hardcover. I might trackdown a copy of it, hopefully it isn't too much.

The Sword is amazing. I love how the Brothers frame the action. It's such beautiful art direction. Also the characters are done so well. You really get behind them and believe them as real people. So when something happens to them you really feel for them. Great great comic.

Yeah I know... often they fall flat towards the end but the ride along the way is so damn good. Hopefully we get a huge arse ending on it :D

Just a quick what's up in the world of comics.

Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep

This isn't the watered down missing the themes of Philip K. Dick movie known as Blade Runner. This is a straight from the source material kick arse presentation. If you've ever wanted to read the novel that was the inspiration for one of the best sci fi movies to date, but don't really enjoy holding a book in your hands, then this is for you. An excellect story with pictures :D

Issue one came out last week.

Oh sweet. I will wait for the trade :)

Recently I have been reading The Goon, 100 Bullets and then for something a bit different some of the recent Wonder Girl trades. Dig it.

I read the first issue of 100 Bullets... didn't really grab me.

I'm working my way through Guy Gardner. It's okay I guess. I've just hit the section where it gets retitled Warrior.

The new Ultimate Comics starts this week.

Ultimate Comics: Avengers

Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man

I don't know what to think about this... sure the Ultimate universe has been going for 10 years, but a reboot feels a little too early.

Oh yeah... thanks Jeff Loeb for fucking over the Supremeverse with your shitty cross over series! I doubt that comic will ever come back. I loved Supreme Power under the max banner, and I thought the series was going pretty good. Then Loeb had to go an stick his dick in it and do a cross over, stick Nick Fury in the Supreme series, and then create the Avengers. Oh and by magic the abilities all just leave the world. FUCK OFF!!!

I just had to get that off my chest.

Has anyone read Echo by Terry Moore? I just started, seems pretty awesome. I like the whole black and white with the suit being in colour. Kinda fancy. Nice writing style too.

I've read Ultimate Avengers and Ultimate Spider-Man...

It's not really a reboot, just a whole new chapter. From the sounds of it Jeff Loeb was wanting to kill the universe off (just like you did with the Supremeverse you fucker!). But it ended up being a closure of sorts. So anyone who sees theses comics with number 1 on the front and want to get into this universe are going to be confused. I haven't read any of the ultimates in ages, and didn't read ultimatum (I had to wiki what happened). So some bits have me confused.

If anyone has read all of Ultimate Spider-Man... how come Gewn Stacey is alive? I thought Carnage killed her.

Also, Hawkeye is fuck awesome. I love how Mark Millar made him not a douche.

currently reading:

The Walking Dead.

I heard it was getting turned into a tv show and finally decided to see what the fuss was all about.

I guess the whole black & white artwork is cool. They are trying to simulate the old horror style... but wow oh wow they writing is just awesome. Issue 6 really just blew my mind. Such powerful emotional stuff. Totally love it. If you can get your hands on it do so.

2 more in the Marvel Noir universe.

Punisher and Luke Cage

Punisher is so freaking awesome! It's set in the 1930's. The artwork is where it is at though. It's like someone coloured in the old strips from the newspaper. Looks fantastic.

About to read Luke Cage... I'm going to guess dull. Never really got into the character.

I think the only time I enjoyed Luke Cage was in the Max series Alias.

The Luke cage Noir comic is kinda cool. He is fresh out of jail and is hired to investigate the death of a white woman in harlem. Kinda cool the whole blacks in the 1930's setting.
