Those who go the gym or exercise at home , how to find driving afterwards when you're knackered?

Best to wait awhile until you recover perhaps?

If you're actually going to pass out or spew...yes listen to your body and do what works for you.

It's important you replenish with protein and carbs. Drive to KFC.

KFC aren't the protein and carbs you're looking for.

I'm sorry, everyone knows I can't help but be a dick in this thread, especially Pep.

I'm picturing Pep in a KFC drivethrough waving his arms and saying "these aren't the protein and carbs you're looking for".

My hero is Ryan Bayley, the cyclist who smashed KFC and won two olympic gold medals.
Few athletes captured the nation’s attention as much as cyclist Ryan Bayley during the 2004 Athens Olympics.
Dubbed “The KFC Kid” because of his habit of eating fast food before and after racing, the then 22-year-old was an unknown prior to Athens, but walked away with two individual gold medals in the sprint and the keirin to spearhead Australia’s best-ever cycling performance at an Olympics.

Yeah not sure kfc or mcdonalds etc matter that much when u have a huge training load of intense cardio sport. I recently bought an xebex airbike for my birthday the other week and wowsers I wasnt expecting it to be so hard.

One look at Ryan Bayley's training routine and you'll quickly see how he could get away with smashing the KFC goodness pre/post racing.

For the average punter/gym junkie/weekend warrior? Good luck with that.

Games Ranch health and fitness discussion

We've been playing KFC tennis in this thread for years. If you're strict with diet and train hard you can smash a KFC bucket each week and lose no condition.

Few pics from my trip to France, doing the bucket list thing, climbed Mount Ventoux, Alpe d'Huez, Galibier, etc. Amazing trip, I got a nice shock on Ventoux, nothing I trained for here could prepare me for the constant 10-12% gradient grind that lasted for 5-6km. It was amazing how much stronger I got over the course of the trip and especially when I got back home, everything felt extremely easy as I just flew up local climbs. Easily the most challenging thing I've ever done.

I can understand why pros train at altitude, it makes your body so much more efficient.

Here are the strava's of all the rides. This was back in July, we crossed paths with the Tour De France, so I got to see the pros suffering, developed a new found respect for what those guys do, simply amazing.

Sharing where I buy my supps FYI. Good quality product, cheap, fast delivery.

https://www.bulknutrients.com.au/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I only use protein powder and creatine these days. They're really the only supps with verifiable results. The pre workouts are nice for a buzz but I train late so dropping a tonne of caffeine at that time not viable. Being vego, protein powders help me hit my macros/nutrients targets while staying within daily maintenance calories. I'd recommend real food over supps any day so if you can hit your numbers with real food then don't buy redundant supplements.

Been meaning to for a while but I've finally bought a bike for work commutes and casual rides. Social distancing the final nudge over the line.

This is the entry level for Cannondale Synapse endurance bikes. Will do for a start. It's a good alloy frame (carbon forks) so if I decide to take cycling up a notch it's a good upgrade base. Wheels are the obvious upgrade item as the entry level Synapse wheels are pretty weighty. Kitted it out with lights, iPhone mount, Shimano combo flat/SPD pedals + shoes. We have fantastic cyclist facilities at my work - swipe card access to secure bike garage, lockers, showers, fresh towels.

Nice! Best investment you'll ever make. Just don't put your life in the hands of drivers. Yield to them rather than making a point. I ride 10 km to work which is safe, as opposed to 6 km which would be dicey in spots. We have kids to come home to.

Bike is great. It accelerates really well and the endurance geometry provides for a comfortable position. Ride home is easy. About 15km each way, flat all the way and mostly dedicated bike path. My arse is sore.

My arse is less sore and I’m enjoying riding again. Already a couple of close calls with cars when riding at night though. Nothing life threatening. Just evasive action when drivers are late seeing me. Have ordered some more high visibility gear.

Here’s the actual machine btw:

Placed an order for a hardtail mountain bike today. Much more than my budget allowed by then it won't be delivered until January next year. Went into the store today and saw the Focus Raven 8.7 and threw down my deposit straight away. Long wait ahead but not nearly as long as a 3080 GPU. Looking forward to riding some trails.

Very nice ride, mate. Congrats. Now go drop another k or so on your accessories. :D

Can't overstate how much I enjoy riding again. Best personal money I've ever spent on myself and that includes gaming.

Heh, I know right? My biggest struggle is whether to go with clipless or flats. Thinking flats only because of simplicity. I think the above is the absolute max (and a bit more) than I was willing to pay but you do get what you pay for with bikes. It was the wife's suggestion in the end, and she is kindly donating money towards it. All the overtime I do in front of PC, she'd rather I spent money normally for PC parts on stuff that gets me out of the house. Fortunately where I live there are lots of mountain bike trails. All my coworkers have gravel bikes now as well, the latest craze. Depending on how it goes I might spring for one from Canyon end of next year.
